The plot is quite engaging, too. In my opinion, blending an interactive narrative with another gameplay element is always a great concept
If only this game would be truly cozy and we can decorate books whoever we wants. Alas - we have to "complete tasks" and sometimes we can't even figure out what we do wrong!

The bookbinding aspect of gameplay is lacking. It's just a lot of point, click, putting objects onto the book cover. Would've like to have more techniques gluing the fabric covers, stamping designs or prints onto covers, gluing pages back, etc. Something more involved. Even cleaning the book was just one tool that cleaned every mess and stain. Really? And then the story dialogue seemed longer than actual game play at times. Each game day you're given maybe 2-3 clients, and that's it. Then there's a long story/dialogue for the day. There should be a better balance. I was drawn to this game initially because it featured tarot, but that was only mentioned 4 times during the two hours I played. I thought tarot would be a bigger aspect of the game/story, but it doesn't seem that way. I dropped the game at the part where your main character has to decide to kill someone for human sacrifice and that it was just discovered that the character's friend killed a young kid and it was ok. I chose not to pursue more human sacrifice lol but the characters guilt you for that choice. There's just something wrong about killing/sacrificing a child even in a game in my opinion and getting away with it too... Would like to have enjoyed this more because the artwork is cute, but it's severely lacking in major components of the game. If I were to compare this to something similar, like Scriptorium, that game is more enjoyable, because it's tongue-and cheeky and doesn't take itself seriously. And yes, it's not book binding, but the point-click-drag game mechanism is similar.
I highly recommend this game!! It offers a beautifully meditative and creative experience where you can customize book covers with an range of tools, including a color wheel and endless design options. The dark, cozy atmosphere pairs perfectly with a rich detective story, and the characters are wonderfully engaging. Whether you're here for the relaxing gameplay or the intriguing mystery with romance options, this indie gem has something special for everyone :3
I CAN'T DRAW, even in the chameleon I lose So sign up for a tarot reading of your life
i loved the premise and its quite relaxing but id prefer doing more traditional book repair tasks like taping torn pages mending damaged spines etc
I wasn't expecting an actual STORY, just the chance to bind some pretty books and make money like a job sim. The story got me hooked though, I was genuinely invested in what would happen to my character -- EXCEPT THEN IT WAS A REALLY SHORT STORY. I think I got a 'good' ending but it felt unsatisfying. I'm really curious about the other endings but do not want to have to grind through the dialogue again since there's no skip button and you have to let it all load before you go to the next screen. I did like it and for its price, it was a fair enough purchase. I just wish there had been more which I guess is the sign of a good story -- you're sorry when it ends!
The story is so interesting! I haven't been able to stop playing, and it keeps me gasping. I love how you can tell your choices make an impact on the outcome, it's thrilling! It seems so sweet and cosy but then you're forced to make intense decisions. I love it so much. The book binding is what interested me, and I do enjoy that aspect, but the story is fantastic so far
Pay attention to the "Dark" in the description, because it does get heavy at times (warnings are available from the main menu page) but it's a nice, snack-sized experience and the bookbinding itself is in fact very cozy. I will definitely play it at least a couple more times at a minimum to get different endings.
