The game is unfinished and has a lot of issues.
I started playing this the second I got the notification it was out. I didn’t even realize I had been allowed a playtest version because I had already purchased it. My Review: there are still some clear bugs (I was going the route of romancing Nate and during the fair date the screen still showed the fair background even after the characters went home) and the text box for the bookbinding itself is a bit finicky. Do i regret my purchase? Not at all. Would I play it too completion? Maybe not since there wasn’t a way to skip dialogue if already played through and read. However! It’s still really good and I think this would be a perfect game for witches or anyone who loves tarot related choice games. One thing I didn’t like: (SPOILERS) When I was going down the route of romancing Nate I was getting the ending where you chose the tarot cards that would hopefully kill the noble man that was blackmailing the character. I replayed it twice and whatever cards you chose it didn’t matter, the ending was the exact same. I understand it explained that the owner of the book was dead but still- if I’m allowed to make that choice then it ultimately not matter that sorta took me out of the experience of a choose your own adventure game. I STILL REALLY ENJOYED THIS I am simply a picky gamer. I still recommend this to others, especially while it’s on this sale or maybe even after if the game likes this kind of game and loves completing a game to 100%

I wanted to love this game, I really did but not only was the UI frustrating (unable to move the color or brush swatches, figuring out halfway through that brush settings affected the eraser etc) the story ended insanely quickly and was very unsatisfying. I hate playing games that make you feel like you are playing as the character, and gives you 'choices' but doesn't actually let you decide what happens to the character. While some of the dialogue options are marked off, due to the character's trauma, saying 'join the lord or die' and then not giving an option to say no was a missed opportunity. I will not be supporting this game any further.
I really did not like the characters. I wish that the devs had listed this as a visual novel because that is what it is. When I think of cozy dark sim I think of Do No Harm or Strange Horticulture. I just wish there was more bookbinding and I really don't understand how you would want to romance any of the characters... just as a preference I really wish it had been promoted as a visual novel, that's what ruined the experience for me the most.
I can tell it's made with love
Lovely game, but it really REALLY needs an "early access" disclosure... I read a lot of people feeling disappointed by bugs, the story's sudden ending and other stuff. The potential is absolutely there, with time this could genuinely become a masterpiece. Right now it's quite early, and I think having an early access sign would be for the best
One of the worst game endings I've ever experienced. What a massive disappointment. It honestly feels like the developers suddenly gave up on the story and just cut it off out of nowhere. The worst part is that the plot was only starting to get interesting, so the ending feels completely unfinished and makes no sense. The gameplay itself was enjoyable, and if the story had actually led somewhere and the choices had mattered, this would have been an easy recommendation. Instead, none of it pays off. I really wanted to like this game, but I can't recommend it. It left me incredibly disappointed.
I might be biased in this review because dark visual novels are a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, but this game feels incomplete in comparison. The story bones are there, but the current story felt lackluster. I don't mind mean, evil, or even abusive characters, but I just couldn't find them compelling. I don't think we spend enough time with anyone to get attached. The concept of the MC? Solid. But it feels pointless. Only two readings? Was there ANY dialogue differences? Actually, I'll never know as there appears to be no fast forward that I could find. If I missed it, that's on me, but the game isn't interesting enough to sit through the dialogue over and over. My biggest complaint was the main gameplay loop. The bookbinding is pretty pointless. It's easy to do what's needed in 10 seconds and just move on. I felt zero interest in actually doing any work on the books once I realized there's no reward for doing well. Just slap on the same sticker and move on. I did buy this in a bundle so maybe I just picked the wrong bundle. Might try it out in a year or so and see if they've improved the story and gameplay.
Quite an interesting game with an interesting plot, you can play )))
Cute, but needs more work. Some bugs with writing text and with the description of the tarot cards. The story is nice, but a little cliche. Still had fun, and it's not too expensive.
