Book of Demons is a Hack & Slash in which YOU decide the length of quests. Wield magic cards instead of weapons and slay the armies of darkness in the dungeons below the Old Cathedral. Save the terror-stricken Paperverse from the clutches of the Archdemon himself!
A very diablo-esque, but still unique, roguelike dungeon-crawler
Big nostalgia with this game, because a lot of things will remind you of classic Diablo: Be it the character classes (warrior, rogue, mage), most of the npc's (Cain, Tyrael etc), the unforgotten quotes ("stay awhile and listen", "this place has been fouled" etc), the groovy oldschool dungeon soundtrack, enemies and Bosses (the Butcher etc) - yeah, a whole lot. However, the movement as well as the combat are very unique: Your movement is very limited. You can not move freely across the map - instead you move your character on preexisting paths in each dungeon, making you think way more about your steps. The combat is somewhere in between real-time and turn-based. Actually everything happens in real-time. But: There is an option to auto-pause the game whenever you dont move, that can be enabled (which I highly recommend). The game then freezes time completely whenever you don't take any action, giving you enough time to think about every step and every action. And this is why combat in this game can be very tactical, like it was turn-based. A never ending hunt, quite addicting! Honestly, the Main Campaign feels pretty short: 3 dungeon-biomes and 3 major Bosses. It takes just a few hours to complete the game formally. (One could argue it's in the oldschool tradition of diablo, which actually had the same little content back in the days. But in my opinion the Book of Demons main campaign could have been longer.) However, after finishing it you can continue your game in Freeplay mode, which I think is endless. Floors are getting harder and you can continue to level up, you can farm gear and hunt for Legendary's or achievements (There are a lot of achievements!). You can also chose between 4 different difficulty levels to put yourself to the test. And there is an extra hard Roguelike mode. And boy, it's hard. I've already invested around 100 hours in only one of the 3 character classes, and I am still not saturated enough to put the game aside or to start over with another class. The game can be a time-eater, but it always feels rewarding, so it does something right. Overall, you can have a lot of fun with Book of Demons. It's pretty polished, too. I give it a 7/10. I'm looking forward to the other games they are developing around this "Return 2 Games" thingy (Book of Aliens etc).

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 15: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

An interesting mixture of ccg and hack'n'slash with clever graphic design and a cute sense of humor. The game has a variety of gameplay options and mechanics and is also very player-friendly. Explains everything clearly and adjusts itself to the availability and commitment of the player. Pretty dope!
Amazing adaptation of that famous game. Great game to kill some time at the office while procrastinating :) Definitely made with passion. Full price/discount price it doesn't matter, you won't regret it if you're an isometric ARPG veteran
A game that isn't a grindfest, isn't overbearding/ bloated with content, neat graphics, no microtransations or paywalls or mandatory DLCs, is simple and straight forward (the classy easy to learn hard to master) and doesn't take you 300H to finish! A breath of fresh air! 11/10
Game is OK, advertising other games inside of a game I paid for is not OK. I was prompted to add other games from this publisher to my steam wish list.
At the core a great game with good mechanics. Gameplay in the center, and loot/cards are upgradeable which is good. The atmosphere is good enough, which is a Diablo (original) spoof. Kinda funny. Unfortunately, the game is not so good in the long run and some of the enemies are just plain annoying/unbalanced. Like Gargoyles that are invincible when petrified (fair enough). But instead of them being stone for a set amount of time, they trigger almost randomly, based on your position related to them. Not in a certain radius, no, a SPECIFIC point that is randomised. Which leads to insta-attacks that are almost unavoidable. So annoying! Another thing is the random nature of the game sometimes creates a rooms with LOADS of enemies. As soon as you enter it, you get manhandled and stunned, dying almost instantly. Remember that you can't attack anything in a room unless you enter the door. Many runs lost to these bad rolls. And finally, the loot/cards are varied, but too few. They are not randomised and just follow a set pattern (skills/stats/etc). Which is a shame. They should have a random feature based on rarity. Which mixes and matches those upgrades. TLDR: If you enjoy a simple and fun (and shallow) adventure go for it. Don't expect it to be deep and varied.
Its a pretty fun dungeon crawler
Carpal tunnel simulator.
