"Art should disturb the comforted and comfort the disturbed." I REALLY enjoyed this game. I appreciated that the protagonist was a male. Men's sexual violence and abuse goes underreported and is something that should absolutely be talked about. If you had preferred the protagonist be a woman. There are plenty of other games which explore that topic. I appreciated the various methods of approaching the situation. The graphics create this grungy feel and whilst the character design is unsettling, the antagonist is rather brash and loud with his abuse post-first shift. Which felt a bit jarring. I still found the build up and the final dropping of the mask to be well structured and deserved. The various endings allowed the game to tell 4 distinct messages. I've seen a review critiquing the various endings and whilst I agree that it turns into achievement hunting, the ending themselves seem very vivid and clear messages that the creator wanted to tell and share. This game is a interpretation of the developers own experiences. The developer mixes a Telltale-esque ability to choose your own reactions rather than just playing his story. TLDR: Real story told from a point of view that is often forgotten or ignored.

I was extremely uncomfortable while playing.
It really shows you to keep your boundries firm and that saying no is okay.
I’ve actually been in similar situations twice when I was a kid, but I was way too young to realize how messed up and scary they actually were. Back then, I didn't even feel scared.. I just thought it was like a fun game. It’s only now that I’m older that I realize how wrong it was. I was just too young to understand what boundaries even meant. Playing this made me feel super uncomfortable and honestly a bit sick, but at the same time, it does a great job of teaching you about setting boundaries and how to say no when something doesn't feel right.
No Means Nothing
This was one of the scariest gaming experiences for me, because it depicts actual reality for so many people. That entire last part had me gradually leaning away from my monitor in disgust, discomfort and fear. Especially the section in Radek's apartment. In my first playthrough I got the worst ending, since I did not find the exit in time. When that illustration popped up, I felt so terribly sad and hopeless. Since then, I've gotten all the endings, and I just love the messaging in each of them. Beautiful illustrations, accompanied with moving text and this hauntingly wonderful soundtrack. I just love the environmental storytelling in this game. The shelfs that are arranged in a deliberately confusing order (I like to think Radek moved them this way to make us feel trapped), none of the barcodes are where you expect them to be. The posters with the sexualized bears, the beer cans lying around to signal Radek's alcoholism and increasing instability, and the destroyed power box. And finally Radek himself. The way he becomes more threatening with each day that passes. At first he's just a pushy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Then he gets extremely creepy and predatory and straight-up ignores our boundaries. I was so scared to turn my back on him, I literally felt his gaze on me the whole time I was running around. His increasingly disturbing facial expressions and then finally the last day, where he decides that our consent does not matter. It's an extremely hard section to play through, not because it's difficult, but because you simply don't know what he will do to you and when he will strike - because strike he will. Great game that I will never play again.
