You can tell how much the creators cared about making a good sequel to the original. I definitely recommend playing through Beneath a Steel Sky or watching someone else's play through before playing this sequel. For the actual gameplay, you're basically playing an interactive 3D comic. I believe there's a few ways you can make things happen but you're mostly experiencing a linear story. Some of the mechanics get a little repetitive but they do put some interesting stuff in there. You'll also see some areas where they change up the gameplay a bit. Kinda cool. I liked the hint system. A lot of times I was stuck basically knowing what to do but not how so I had to drill down a bit to get it to tell me what I was missing, However, I much prefer that over them giving too much info. So they did a great job there. I very much enjoyed my play through and am going back to check out some of the in-game commentary. TL;DR: If you don't mind playing a linear story and like clicking around trying things then I highly recommend this game. There's so many little references, call-backs, and extra details they put into it, you can really tell how much love and care for the Steel Sky lore/universe went into making it.
Man weis doch gar nicht was man gerade fragt.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Very solid puzzle videogame, with a splendid graphic style. The only downside is that it has some obtuse moments.
Bethesda level of bugs in this game. A short list of what I came across 1 - I had a programming tag disappear (you do a kind of baby level programming in this game), so my holograms were gone. 2 - Two prompts are switched so clicking on the center object takes you to the left one and vice versa. 3 - After switching a few tags in the piazza the game had enough and didn't let me click on anything anymore. Needed to reload a previous game. 4 - After an NPC tried to walk through a door at the same time as me I was stuck in a wall 5 - Had an NPC walk through a locked door (the devs only accounted for the door stopping NPC's going out, but not going in) 6 - Characters respond to dialogue before you had the conversation with them 7 - The devs didn't account for anyone clicking on things in any other order than what they decided. for example: during a quest at your appartment you need to read a piece of information, but if you read it earlier in the game, your character completely forgot about it. Another example: When you look at the museum exhibits your character seems to be deaf and blind since the achievement only pops when you do it a second time when your companion is with you. 8 - Audio cuts out randomly. Devs were aware because instead of fixing it, they replaced the audio with text bubbles the moment it cuts. 9 - After an NPC sets off an alarm, the security droid doesn't go after the person who set it off but always comes after me. 10 - Dialogue option never appears. This is a gamebreaking bug and it stopped me from playing any further. A poet droid needs to give you a dialogue option to advance the story, but never does. Replaying the previous section doesn't help. This bug is discussed in forums that are several years old and it was never fixed Lastly, not a bug but just as bad: when you find Joey there is no way to question him about how he got where he is or what preceded it. How is that not the first thing you ask? And another plothole to go with it:
people are told he left the city but are aware his motherboard is in the museum at the same time?!?!
What idiot wrote this story? This entire game feels like it was made by highschool students and not by the people who made the original. From what I've seen so far, they also try way to hard to nostalgia bait instead of telling a new story. There is no way I can recommend this game even though I wanted to love it
Beyond a Steel Sky is the second game in the "Steel Sky" series. The first one is Beneath a Steel Sky. It's actually free-to-play here on Steam so I recommend checking it out first. While it's not required to understand Beyond's story, it enhanced my experience as this game referenced it a bit and there was also one returning side character from Beneath (it's
Danielle Piermont
. Now, about Beyond. I liked the art style and the world design is so cool. It was nice seeing the LINC space in 3D. And I just really enjoy a vibrant sci-fi world. It was mostly the characters that carried this game for me though. Most of them are very quirky and while I can see it being a hit-or-miss, it worked well on me. I just found them really fun to talk to, especially Joey. The story itself is... fine. I didn't really care about finding the child, but I was interested in Union City itself. Unfortunately, I can't say that I enjoyed the gameplay that much. The puzzles were just boring. They were easy to solve and I didn't really enjoy the "hacking" puzzles (which I think made up the majority of this game's puzzles, but I could be wrong). The hacking was basically you scanning objects and then swapping their module effects. There's not much to it beyond that. It also fell off near the end. I didn't enjoy the final sequence and I hated the ending. I hope they make a third game at some point. I really want to know
what happens to Union City
and (MAJOR SPOILERS)
I just want Joey to be fixed. I really don't get why they had to kill him in the end
. Either way, I still loved this game. 8/10. Side note: It's also well-optimized. I'm pretty sure I had mine at max settings and it was still a stable 60fps (1080p).
A nice retelling of the original. Worth the Play if you've played the original or a newcomer. It's very linier and very easy to progress.
