About

Bermuda Survivor offers a fresh take on the bullet heaven genre. While your main goal is to stay alive and vanquish swarms of enemies, there will also be time for a rather calm exploration, solving lore riddles, and gathering various resources.
Unlock multiple abilities and weapons as you progress. Melee or ranged, choose what suits you best: deadly katanas, bats, revolvers, shotguns, rifles, and many more await. Explore various synergies and craft powerful combos to fend off powerful bosses and defeat the hordes even faster.
Explore a handcrafted world filled with different paths, landmarks, and other surprises. Unlike most similar games, the layout is fixed, allowing you to master every corner and find the most efficient routes to succeed. Venture through different biomes, including a burning-hot lava lake, mysterious fog, or the void (a special endgame biome).
Gather new resources with every run. Use them to permanently unlock hidden paths & shortcuts, restore buildings, free captured inhabitants, and power up advanced machines scattered throughout the map. Expect to have a real influence on the shape of the world and level design!
Dive deep into the Bermuda Triangle mystery and uncover its secrets. It all begins with a sudden pull into a vast vortex. Stranded on a strange island, with your ship gone and the crew nowhere to be found, your only guide is the distant signal tower on the horizon.
Try to find your scattered crewmates; each changed in strange, unpredictable ways. Hear their stories, help them, and uncover what drove them to madness. Be ready to encounter the bizarre and the unexpected: from strange lights in the sky to raccoons with katanas, feral chickens, and… giant tanks? Each run brings as many new questions as answers.

I had a blast with this game and I think it does a few things that other games in the ballpark don't. And we have seen this "kill waves upon waves of enemies-level up-work your way towards strengthening your build" formula done a gazillion, trillion times in recent memory. Bermuda Survivor doesn’t do anything extraordinarily different and there are many games out there that do that formula better. But the reason I liked Bermuda Survivor better than those other games, the reason why I couldn't put it down until I finoished it and farmed almost all the achievements, is that it nails two things that are very important to me: 1st the feeling of adventure and 2nd the discovery/figuring out aspect of the game. Rather than being confined to an area and being swarmed by endless waves of monsters. You have quests that you need to complete, and this requires you to venture forth, clear the fog of war, find people who give you vague clues about what to do next and where to go. Your goal is to find every remaining survivor and that entails finding your way around the island, figuring out puzzles, participating in trials given to you by people who are purposefully vague in their explanations about you need to do, sorting out trap infested corridors, etc. And this ramps the adventure aspect of the game through the roof. There's also something new happening every run. You can fix tanks and use them to run over and blast your enemies to pieaces and blow obstacles away for future runs, there are raccoons that do battle by your side and can be upgraded in several ways, puzzles that you need to sort out while you are getting attacked from everywhere. This game is a blast to play and I can't recommend it enough. You can check out the full review on my youtube channel -->YeOldEntertainment.
Pretty fun rougelite with a standard gameplay loop and decent story. I did occasionally encounter a bug when entering the settings which would change my language. Sometimes a restart would fix it, sometimes it wouldn't. Overall, good time. Also raccoons with katanas.
A small army of katana wielding racoons carried me through a run. 10/10, would recommend.
Fun little title with a loop you expect from these type of games. Highlights for me is honestly the voice lines and the music. Easy to pick up and once you get going your tearing through whatever the monsters are your facing. Find the racoons, trust they are handy little trash demons.
I played the demo and had assumed this was going to be pretty good. However, my expectations were blown out of the water. After only a bit more than 3 hours of play time, I can say with confidence that this is already one of the best games I have played all year. The way the roguelike elements come together seamlessly with the story is truly a feat in itself but, they take it one step further and add in an actively solvable mystery and one of the most satisfying and grueling combat systems and gameplay loops I have had the pleasure of playing. As of writing this, there isn't much exposure for this game and I sincerely hope that changes because the developers of this deserve every bit of recognition and praise for what they have done here. I would have paid 5x the price for this and been just as satisfied, thank you Glitch Mode. 10/10.
Good variety of weapons and ways to play. Decent value for it's content.
HIDDEN GEM. An INSANE gem for $1.49 (on sale)
Bermuda Survivor, developed by Glitch Mode and published by Awaken Realms, is an action roguelite that combines the chaotic, enemy-swarming gameplay of bullet-heaven survival games with a stronger emphasis on exploration and world progression. Set within the mysterious Bermuda Triangle, the game places players in the role of a diver who becomes stranded on a strange island after a catastrophic accident at sea. From this point forward, the adventure unfolds as a series of dangerous expeditions across the island’s terrain, where players must fend off endless waves of enemies while gradually uncovering the secrets of the environment and rebuilding their chances of escape. The story begins with the protagonist being pulled into an unusual vortex while traveling through the Bermuda Triangle. When the character awakens, they find themselves on a mysterious island surrounded by supernatural phenomena and strange creatures. With their vessel destroyed and fellow crew members missing, survival becomes the first priority. As the player ventures deeper into the island, they encounter fragments of a larger mystery tied to the strange forces operating within the region. Dialogue from scattered survivors, environmental clues, and strange machines scattered across the island gradually reveal pieces of a larger narrative involving unnatural distortions and hidden dangers. At its core, Bermuda Survivor follows the familiar structure of the bullet-heaven genre. Players must survive against large numbers of enemies that approach from every direction, constantly moving to avoid being overwhelmed. As enemies are defeated, they drop experience points that allow the player to level up during the run. Each level offers a selection of upgrades that can dramatically alter the player’s combat abilities. These upgrades might grant new weapons, increase attack power, enhance movement speed, or add special effects that interact with other abilities. As these bonuses accumulate, the player becomes increasingly powerful, eventually unleashing waves of destruction capable of clearing large groups of enemies at once. What sets the game apart from many similar titles is its use of a persistent, handcrafted environment rather than randomly generated arenas. The island remains largely consistent across different runs, allowing players to gradually learn its layout and develop strategies for navigating it efficiently. Hidden areas, secret pathways, and important locations can be discovered through exploration, rewarding players who take the time to venture away from the most obvious routes. Over time, players become more familiar with the island’s geography, turning what initially feels like a dangerous and confusing place into a space they can strategically navigate. Exploration also ties into the game’s long-term progression systems. During each run, players collect various resources scattered throughout the island. These materials can later be used to repair structures, activate mysterious devices, or unlock shortcuts that make future runs more efficient. As players invest these resources into the environment, parts of the island gradually change, opening up new paths or revealing additional areas to explore. This evolving world design adds a sense of permanence to the player’s actions, giving each run a purpose beyond simply surviving for as long as possible. Combat variety is enhanced through a broad selection of weapons and abilities that players can combine into unique builds. The protagonist can equip different types of gear, including melee tools like bats and ranged weapons such as pistols, rifles, and shotguns. As the player levels up, passive abilities can be combined with these weapons to create powerful synergies. Some upgrades increase projectile speed, others add explosive effects, and certain combinations produce dramatic chain reactions that allow players to clear massive swarms of enemies. Discovering these combinations becomes one of the most satisfying aspects of the gameplay. The island’s enemies range from strange mutated creatures to bizarre supernatural threats that emerge from the environment. Some enemies simply charge toward the player in large groups, while others use ranged attacks or unusual movement patterns that require careful positioning to avoid. As players survive longer during each run, the intensity of enemy waves increases significantly, filling the screen with hostile creatures that test the player’s reflexes and build choices. Boss encounters occasionally appear as major challenges, forcing players to adapt their tactics and survive powerful attack patterns. Visually, Bermuda Survivor uses pixel-art graphics enhanced with bright visual effects that emphasize the scale of the chaos during combat. The screen often fills with enemies, projectiles, and explosive effects as the player’s abilities grow stronger. Despite the intensity of these battles, the art style remains clear enough that players can track their character’s movement and incoming threats without becoming overwhelmed. The island itself features a range of environments, including eerie forests, volcanic landscapes, and fog-covered areas that add variety to the exploration. Sound design contributes to the energetic tone of the game. Weapons fire with satisfying audio feedback, enemies produce distinctive sounds when defeated, and background music helps maintain a fast pace during combat. The protagonist also occasionally comments on the strange events happening on the island, providing bits of humor and personality throughout the adventure. While these voice lines can add charm, they may become repetitive during longer play sessions. Despite its strong gameplay loop, the game does have a few limitations. Enemy types, while initially varied, can begin to feel repetitive after extended play. Certain ability combinations also become extremely powerful, making later stages of a run feel less challenging once players discover particularly effective builds. Additionally, the use of a fixed map—while interesting for exploration—means that some of the unpredictability commonly associated with roguelite games is reduced. Nevertheless, Bermuda Survivor succeeds in delivering a satisfying blend of survival combat and exploration-driven progression. Its combination of intense enemy waves, evolving player builds, and persistent environmental upgrades creates a gameplay loop that encourages repeated runs. Each expedition contributes to both the player’s strength and the gradual transformation of the island itself. Ultimately, Bermuda Survivor stands out within the crowded survival roguelite genre by adding a stronger sense of place and progression. Instead of feeling like a series of disconnected arenas, the game creates the impression of a living environment that changes as the player explores it. For fans of bullet-heaven games who are looking for something with a bit more structure and world-building, it offers a refreshing variation on a familiar formula. Rating: 7/10
