Beasts of Maravilla Island

Hard not to recommend Beasts Of Maravilla, its a short relaxing game where you just explore the island and take photo's of bugs, flora and animals. It's on the very short side I got pictures of everything and enjoyed myself but beat it in 84 minutes. I didn't get all the achievements because unfortunately in my eyes, it doesnt have that replayability for me but none the less the first walkthrough was a nice chill time. The camera was a bit wonky and in fact was a lot easier to play in camera mode (I didn't and thanks to this I missed pictures of the island spirit creature). The last section is probably the part ill complain the most about since the puzzle revolved you taking agro from the creature, however, sometimes it just wouldnt work and it was so jank. Climbing stairs was proven to be very difficult for the character since I had to enter and leave camera mode to try and climb the last few stairs. All round its short, I'm sure you can get it pretty cheap either on sale or other official stores and honestly just relaxing to have a little playthrough on.

A short and sweet Pokemon Snap-like with some light adventure elements. You play as a girl whose grandfather once explored the magical Maravilla Island, documented his journey without much proof, and was never truly believed in life about his experience. So you go to the island (I guess you knew where it was the whole time or something) with your trusty camera, and you go through a small handful of biomes, each with a solid number of creatures, and you document them throughout a mostly linear track, occasionally doing some light puzzle solving. It took two hours for me to beat. I didn't quite 100% it. I missed like 4 photos. I know exactly where they are, but I don't much feel like doing all that. I do wish there were a like two more biomes. By the final area, it felt like I should've been in the dead middle of the gameplay loop. The gameplay loop itself is good, though. Taking photos is fun, and hunting for new creatures is cool. There's a bunch of birds and bugs and plants and whatnot. It was chill. Good times were had. I did however run into a decent bit of jank in the last area. The super cool animal with multiple behaviors you can document was supposed to break some pillars to advance me along a puzzle, and I knew exactly how I was supposed to get him to do that, but it took probably too many times to get him to do it once (and I needed him to do it four times). The acting and writing are both also a little 'community theater'. It was completely serviceable, but certainly amateur. Mostly an excuse plot to get you to take some cool animals in fun environments. The animals are cool, though, and I like the environments. The game is limited in scope and resources, and it does show. It's not a deal breaker for me, it's still a vibe, but that's pretty much all I got out of it. Solid little game, worth checking out, but certainly nothing spectacular. Go in understanding what it is, and you might get something pretty positive out of it.

É um jogo relaxante, bem legal. Mas tem um bug que impede a gente a subir uma escada e zerar o jogo. Não dá para recomendar enquanto não consertarem isso.

Beasts of Maravilla Island é um jogo fofo de exploração onde você tem que tirar fotos de toda a fauna e flora da ilha Maravilla. Então esse é um dos jogos que eu gostaria muito de poder recomendar porém não consigo, pois possui um problema que acaba me impedindo de fazer isso. A arte é bonitinha, a musica e sua ambientação é agradável, a mecânica do jogo é okay dando pra tirar fotos bem legais, possui alguns segredinhos e a história apesar de rasa é direta ao ponto sem enrolar. O problema disso tudo é o jogo, exploração é inexistente pois você andará em linha reta praticamente e tudo passará pela sua frente, além de não haver desafio algum, sério, é quase um simulador de caminhada tendo 1 "quebra-cabeça" por nível, que são bizarros de fáceis. Tudo isso deixa o jogo bastante entediante, mesmo sendo um jogo curto de 2 horinhas. Talvez se for o primeiro jogo da formação de uma criança, porém até nisso não vejo muito sentido. Se você gostar de jogos bastantes casuais talvez vale a pena. Mas não posso recomendar ele. Nível na escala de divertimento: Olha só quanto bichinhoooo .... eahn tédio.

很小品的遊戲，沒有全成就的話2小時可以通關 音樂很有熱帶島嶼氛圍，有趣的部分是居然有請「生物設計顧問」，這點滿用心的。 遊戲玩法只有拍照，劇情跟我想的一樣無聊，極輕度解謎，生物只有拍照沒有太多刻劃跟互動，只有3種重要的動物有不同的表現需要拍，怎麼說呢有點便宜行事吧？雖然很喜歡這種步行模擬器，但這真的有點太隨便了 不推薦

Beasts of Maravilla Island is difficult to rate. A neutral option would honestly fit this game better. I even considered leaving a negative review at first. It’s a cute and short indie game, and it offers some easy achievements. Unfortunately, there are also some problems. My biggest issue is the controls, which often don’t do what they’re supposed to. That quickly turns what should be a relaxing photography adventure into something frustrating. The creature design also didn’t fully work for me. I’m not talking about the animations — those don’t need to be perfect in a small indie game. But with some animals I genuinely had trouble telling them apart. Since the whole point of the game is exploring different areas and discovering new species, that’s disappointing. For example, some bats look completely identical. I only noticed the difference because the camera showed “New.” In the end it might come down to personal taste, but I’d recommend picking it up on sale rather than at full price.

Es ist ein süßes, kleines Spiel. Ich liebe die Zeichnungen im Tagebuch und das Aussehen der Tiere an sich! Die Steuerung ist etwas hakelig (bei mir war ständig der Mauszeiger im Bild der die Kamera immer wieder rumgerissen hat. Grundsätzlich ist es möglich, das Spiel in einem Rutsch durchzuspielen. Ich musste nach dem Ende nochmal zurück in den Dschungel und den Sumpf, aber das ging Problemlos :) Wenn man ein kurzes Cozygame sucht wird man hier auf jeden Fall fündig - und wenn man im Gegensatz zu mir auch noch einen Orientierungssinn besitzt, findet man sich auch zurecht ;) Ich weiß nicht wie ich es geschafft habe, aber ich bin sicherlich eine Stunde in den Ästen im Dschungel rumgelaufen, weil ich den Weg nicht gecheckt habe xD Man sollte halt bedenken, dass das Spiel sehr kurz ist, also erwartet keinen Tagelangen Spielspaß :) Aber man hat definitive Spaß, wenn man es liebt Tiere zu Fotografieren :D
