Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.29/day in the week to Aug 14 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I love this game. I stood outside a brick and mortar store to buy it on CDs for hours waiting for it to open on release day. I love the original just as much.I bought it on several platforms and editions over the years. Probably will play it again in the future. 9.5/10 The enhanced edition is enhanced in the same way as imoen was but works great in newer systems. If you can't kill a dragon at this time, try again later. Also it is possible to play the game without a party. All time fave for me. Yep. Can't say anything bad about this game really. Games don't get made this good no moar.

This is admittedly a complicated game to play, but incredibly well worth it. This very much lives up to it's status of being one of the best video games ever made. I cannot recommend it enough. If this is your first time playing, I highly recommend playing BG I first, which has a tutorial in the beginning. Also use the guides you can find online. They will be life-changingly helpful.
Stands among some of the best wRPGs ever made in my opinion. Lots of replayability due to some branching choices, great music, competent writing(for the most part), and just great gameplay overall. Some of the character writing is hit and miss, but mostly it's pretty good. The series was good enough to spawn baldur's gate 3 if you had any doubts about buying this. Hell in my opinion it plays better than baldurs' gate 3 as well.
To this day one of the best RPGs out there. It reminds me of my childhood where I spent countless hours after school, roaming the Sword Coast for adventures. No other game has managed to pull me into its world like Baldurs Gate did. I play it at least once a year.
it is amazing i havn't even finished it and it has captured my heart this is one of the best games i have ever played and i would completely reccomend ot to anyone but as a disclaimer this and bg3 are NOT the same the combat and movement are very different but that may be because it is somewhere in 2nd edition i believe
Baldur's Gate 2 is one of the best roleplaying games I have ever played and massively improves on the foundation that the first game laid out and expands on the Bhaalspawn story excellently. The environments are really pretty and the writing is great. The companions as well are mega dope. Only thing that pisses me off is they got rid of the "Toime for a bit of the old rough tumble" voice pack, which is really jarring as that was the voice of my character in the first game.
Disclaimer: I remember when BG2 came out but I didn't play it at the time, so rest assured that this review is not colored by childhood nostalgia. Is this game good and worth playing in 2026? As long as you're willing to engage with old and sometimes clunky UI, my answer is wholeheartedly Yes. I was shocked by how much I enjoyed this game. When I reached nearly the end of Throne of Bhaal, I turned right around and started over from the beginning, making sure to do each of the companions' quests this time. BG2 *feels* like an adventure, full of classic RPG moments. The companions are great, and the banter between them and the PC is the best part of the game. As a side note, make sure to take Yoshimo to Spellhold - the level is so much richer and more meaningful if you do. One thing I enjoyed about BG2 was how you can see so many of the seeds of later RPGs, particularly Bioware ones like Mass Effect, really take root in this game--if you're at all interested in the history of video games, it's worth playing for that aspect alone. The main negatives of this game are the awkwardness of AD&D rules and the fact that companion and romance banters are mostly gated behind real-time timers, which meant that I didn't see as many of them as I would have liked. It also meant that I was just leaving the game running and walking away when I ran out of quests to do before Jaheira's romance had finished, just waiting for her next banter to appear. I imagine there are mods to help with that aspect, though. I also found Throne of Bhaal to be vaguely disappointing after the sprawling adventure of Shadows of Amn, but it was still a cool story.
"Your life may be mortal, your time now finite, but the mark you have left upon the realms will endure."
