Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.29/day in the week to Aug 14 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

As you escape and step back into the wider world, the question at the heart of the Bhaalspawn saga becomes impossible to ignore. Can you resist the evil in your blood and forsake the dark destiny that awaits you? Or will you embrace your monstrous nature within and ascend to godhood as the new Lord of Murder?

The best CRPG ever made. Why are you wasting your time reading reviews.

This genre having another golden age, it must be said that BG2 still stands as a benchmark. What really elevates it above the first one is that the world is far more than your average fantasy setting, for a pretty wild journey. For newcomers, it's very easy to be lead into impossible fights early on, so have a save before going on a quest. I still find it a bit annoying that some enemies can completely cripple you before you have any way of countering it, let alone knowing what counters what. Unreliable path-finding is also an annoyance - you just have to micro-manage movement on occasion. I've never finished Throne of Baal because it got so brutal, but I'll go for that with this modded run; new questlines, playing as a primordial witch doctor from a kit mod. Spawning in strange animals and commanding existing creatures is his thing! I'm also trying to keep the party at 4 characters but that's hard with so many good ones! I must've installed some cut content too, because there is so much stuff happening in the city that I don't remember ever seeing. Yeah, this game is as good as it gets.
BG2 is the greatest RPG of all time, hands down. Beamdog's enhanced edition release makes a few minor changes, some positive, some negative- but anything that enables new players to play this masterpiece on newer PCs with some QOL fixes is worthy of a positive review, and is certainly a 100% buy if you have not played this game before.
It is astonishing how well this game has aged. It is still the greatest game I have ever played, and for simple reasons: The world is believable and lived in; there's lore, but it's not overwhelming; all the characters are extremely memorable; the plot is easy to understand; JON ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ IRENICUS; gameplay is fast, fun, and addictive. The best game Bioware ever made, the best game Black Isle ever published, and easily, EASILY, my all time favorite game. Get it today.
Even after 20 years, I hadn't finished it. Now I'm on my second playthrough and easily one of the best games I've ever played after all this time. A masterpiece.
