If you’re looking for something scary with a good atmosphere, look somewhere else, because this game isn’t it. The gameplay loop is repetitive and you end up doing the same thing every time. You go into a room, solve a simple puzzle, and then move on. Too often you don’t know what you’re supposed to do because the main protagonist doesn’t say anything when it would actually be necessary. For example, I got to the second floor by moving a shelf out of the way. After that, I kept searching for what I was supposed to do next because clearly I needed to be there, but I couldn’t go any further. Eventually I found the candle on the stairs where I had been standing. The character never said he needed light, so how was I supposed to know? To make it easier for the player, the protagonist could have simply turned toward the candle next to him after moving the shelf and said something like, “It’s too dark, I need a light.” Also jumpscares were not effective, they were cheap. Once it got me upstairs.
