An excellent metroidvania that aims to sit alongside the original Metroid on the NES. Weapon selection is great with interesting weird science contraptions. Combat is a good balance, not too easy nor too difficult. Exploration is solid, where areas open up over time with upgrades. Story is interesting, but never in the way of the game-play. Music and sound are rough though, mimic of the classics too faithfully. Extended play sessions can hurt the ears. It may be worth the effort to route audio through a dedicated sound system that can add suppression to the high pitch noises. Game is worthy in all time favorites lists.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

One of the metroidvanias that i enjoyed the most. It has interesting mechanics. Also very cool weapons, not the typical ones. Great story with interesting plot twists, well designed levels and a fantastic pixel art inspired in HR Giger. If i have one complain. I miss some sort of fast travel, because the exploration between save points can be tedious when you are searching for the right path.
Good game, too bad there are no multiple endings...As i did my best to deschiper all texts and find out something that would make me pick a side or sum....
This game is immaculate and brought me back to the days where I played Metroid 1, and Super on Dad's consoles. I think it's really intelligently designed in how the game wordlessly encourages you to experiment. Combat against smaller enemies usually gives you plenty of options. Learning not only how the creature behaves, but how the hacking mechanic shifts what each enemy can do is such a rewarding experience. Bosses tend to have pretty simple patterns, but gradually get faster as they lose health. This is both a positive and a negative, since easy patterns can become fairly tight to dodge through, and already difficult patterns can spiral out of control. There's a large variety of weapons that all seem to have strengths and weaknesses for every sort of baddie you'd encounter. But in that, the game does get a bit frustrating near the end. Flying enemies attacking you on sight, tanky enemies shooting you from afar... in one case, Both cases are true. But you can find and make creative solutions to all of them. Axiom Verge is a creative masterpiece, that has a few flaws that didn't detract from my experience. It knows what it wants to be, and it does it all really well. And the native randomizer ensures that your second playthrough can bring back that same sense of curiosity you had during your first run. Bottled nostalgia mixed with a mind ♥♥♥♥. 8/10
