Awakening: The Dreamless Castle

This is a beautiful, light-hearted Hidden Object Adventure game. It's a fun story full of activities & dialogue that kept me going from one thing to another. It has a lesser number of HOPs, plus a good mix of puzzles & mini games that seemed just right for difficulty. -There is a helpful journal. -Hint/skip button. That works mostly for HOPs, games, puzzles. The hint button does not show you which way to go and mostly says, "there's nothing to do here." -You can't choose a difficulty level. -There is no map or fast travel feature and there is nothing to show you areas where you can take action. -You will not always know what items can be clicked on when searching an area. Sometimes it shows as a hot spot when you hover over it, and other times you have no idea you can click on it. -You have plenty of things to collect in order to play the mini games & puzzles. If you can't find one, the hint does not show you where to find it.

This is an enjoyable game and one that piqued my interest in the hidden object genre as something more than the simple flash games available in the early days of internet gaming. The game has lovely artwork and detailed backgrounds. The music is soft and relaxing and compliments the relaxed pace. The puzzles themselves are fairly easy, with the difficulty largely coming from finding objects within the detailed backgrounds. Story-wise, it's enjoyable and enough to keep you engaged, but nothing phenomenal. I did miss some of the quality-of-life features that more recent hidden object games employ, such as maps that allow instant travel to visited areas, but not having them isn't an issue. Overall, this is a fun, relaxing game that I enjoyed.

补票童年回忆！小的时候在平板上反复通关很多次这个游戏，虽然后面出了不少续作，但还是觉得第一部最经典。那个时候觉得这美工和音乐真的是一绝，女主真的美到不行，现在依然这么觉得呜呜呜。女主真的好美，感觉长相是偏亚洲人而非完全欧美人的长相，很温柔很喜欢！ 经典的寻物解谜游戏，游戏难度可以说非常轻松，引导和提示都做得很好，网上攻略也是一大把。英文难度可以说几乎为0（但是对小时候的自己来说还是有点难呢）因为年代久远所以分辨率很低全屏画质烂烂的，窗口化看起来好些。剧情也是很简单易懂的睡美人剧情。原价购入是为了童年情怀，真的为了游戏性的话最好还是等打折吧~

I, too, played this and the next games in the series when I was but a child with no money other than the iTunes gift cards given to me at Christmas. But long are those days, and I keep returning to the Awakening series time and time again. The atmosphere is lovely, and is very reminiscent of classic folklore fantasy with fairies, dwarves, unicorns, and everything fairy tales are made of. The games are simple, but I just adore the story and the little bits of lore the games provide. The artwork is beautiful, and the music? Absolutely magical and fits the atmosphere perfectly. Constantly, I find myself coming back to this game sometimes purely for the music and atmosphere alone. I was always fond of the voice acting, though minimal, as I had always thought how well the voices for the characters fit. And of course, those qualities improve with each game. The puzzles themselves are simple enough, and I enjoy Goblinjong. I will say that the puzzles and interactions get more difficult with each game, so if you don't mind immersing yourself with the series completely, go ahead!
