Sitting down to play this with my wife on the couch reminded me of going into marvel vs capcom 3 as a kid blind with my friends. There's incredible technical depth and its a game made for people who love the genre more than anything else, but designed so that a 10 year old who's literally never played a fighting game ever and just wants to press buttons can hop in, select a character that looks cool, and have fun NOW. This isn't street fighter, where if you can't do a motion input and they don't have modern controls, your character looks stupid and you can't do anything that looks or feels cool. This is more like classic MVC, or Mortal Kombat 9, where even without being able to ever do a quarter circle, you can do LOADS OF COOL THINGS, including simple combos (auto combo mash on light attack, and lighter attacks universally chain into heavier attacks making basic combos extremely beginner friendly). Do a random quarter circle forwards or back, and now you can basically use your characters entire moveset. It's gonna be flashy. Its gonna be fun. Try it.

Really good game! The art is honestly gorgeous. I could never get into fighting games before, but am reasonably seasoned at other games. Avatar Legends gives an easy intro and makes the game beginner friendly for noobs. It's still very hard to play well, so I think the skill ceiling is high enough for seasoned fighting game veterans.
amazingly simple and fun
This is the best fighting game to come out in the last 10 years
Avatar has reminded me that fighting games can be something so great. It's definitely unfinished but it's a labour of love and it shows. I think this one will be sticking around for a long time. With that said I'm dying waiting for my main, tell us when Uncle is coming out already!
pli
This game is really lovingly crafted. It is the best game the franchise has ever gotten. Believe me, I have waited ever since. While it had a bit of a rough start, the developers already communicated next steps. I hope this will become THE definitive avatar game over time. I'll be there for the journey.
its 30 bucks for a fighting game that plays like a faster sf6. its good
I'm terrible, 3 characters are unfinished, there's no room lobbies or ranked, yet the game slaps regardless. The game is just a joy to take part in :>
They consider Ozai "unfinished", but i think thats a bad thing because he the funniest fighting game character EVER as he is now 😭
