As a fan of the original Automon, this was an instant-buy for me. Automon Arena has a more interesting gameplay loop since it's PvP (with vs bots being a very viable option) - using a mutliplayer node/map system rather than a standard branching path that's common in roguelites. The animations of the Automon have significantlly improved since the initial game, while keeping the 'janky' charm. Lots of good UI decisions like being able to hover enemies to know which of your automon have best type advantage - making it easier for newer players to step into.
It's an autobattler battle royale I'm not that familiar with any of those genres, but I think it's pretty fun Not a lot of people online but there are bot lobbies that allow you to search for real ones while you play against bots so that's nice Games only need 4 players, so I can see it being a fun one to check out with friends

Automon Arena is genuinely incredible. The Automon designs, the characters, and especially their dialogue are all so charming and funny. You can really tell how much love has been poured into this game. I liked it so much that I ended up joining the community, and that only made me appreciate it even more after seeing how much effort the developer is putting into it. Just today, the dev released an update that implemented suggestions people had literally made yesterday in the Discord server. That alone says a lot. This isn’t one of those games that gets released and then immediately feels abandoned. The developer is actively listening to the community, improving the game, and clearly cares a lot about what they’re creating. Because of that dedication, both from the dev and the community, I can genuinely see this game growing into something really special. I have a lot of hope for its future. I also absolutely love that Automon Arena is built around PvP instead of being a completely linear experience. Of course, right now there may not always be a lot of people in the queue, but I really think that’s just a matter of time as more people discover the game. Another thing I really enjoy is the difficulty. It can take a little while to get used to at first, but once you start understanding the mechanics, there are some really fun strategies and interactions to discover. I’m also extremely excited about the idea of eventually being able to challenge the “Global Champion.” I think that’s such a fascinating idea!!! I didn’t even know this game existed until about a week ago, and somehow it completely won me over. I liked it so much that when I discovered there was also the original Automon, I didn’t hesitate to buy that too, just like I didn’t hesitate to buy Automon Arena. Thank you so much, dev, for all the effort you’re putting into the game and especially for taking the time to listen to us. It really, really is appreciated. I’m very excited to see where Automon Arena goes from here.
Pokeman battle royale
It's ass. Looks terrible, UI looks like crap, gameplay is incredibly bare, wouldn't even buy it for 1$
I am having a good time with the game so far. I can see why certain elements were trimmed, compared to the developer's first game, and I can see how other aspects have improved a lot, starting with the graphics. I can also see that the humor didn't improve at all, and I am here for it! Keep at it, dev!
A genuinely great sequel to the original Automon, the battle royale aspect works really well. I adore the updated artwork, it keeps the charm of the original whilst still giving it a solid upgrade visually. My hours at the time (13~) are played only against bots, but the multiplayer seems like a fun addition though take note there's limited active players at the moment. Will be interesting to see how this develops during early access and I am excited to see more Automons!
Wow, I sure am bad at this game. Glad it's not one of those easy baby games.
Fun auto-battler with a lot of subtle depth. Played a lot of the demo, and the full version is even better.
Automon and Automon Arena are both auto-battlers, the difference is Automon is a liner map and Arena is a choose your own path, circular path. You don't have a lot to influence outside of creating a team and sending them out to fight someone else's team. For a game that's near $5, it has it's entertainment. It's not deep, there's not a lot of things to do, not sure what they're even planning to add. But price to game, it's for sure worth it if you like auto-battlers. A run takes between 15-30 min. I've only played against bots, there is an option for playing against players, but there isn't a large enough player base to reliably get into a game. TL/DR: If you like auto-battlers and you've got $5 to spend, it's a decent game to play around with, if that's not you, I'd stay away.
