Fight Fast-Paced, Tactical Battles

Battles play out simultaneously in a series of rounds, with careful positioning and planning the key to victory. Deploy your troops, plan your attack, and watch as the action plays out simultaneously. 

Find gaps in the enemy’s defenses to strike at their leader. Take them down, and victory is yours! But be careful not to leave Jairm exposed - if he falls, the rebellion fails.

Plan Your Moves

Units act automatically, performing actions based on whether they are in the Front, Middle, or Rear rows. Carefully positioning your troops each round to take advantage of their skills to match the situation on the battlefield is the key to victory! 

Some units also unlock special powers when arranged in Formations, giving you even more tactical options. Your Rebels are more powerful when they stand together to face the enemy, but your Archers might be better served hiding behind a stronger ally for a defensive buff.

Build Your Army

Every battle you fight brings more glory to Jairm’s rebellion, and as your fame spreads more and more types of units will flock to your cause. From the humble Rebel armed only with his pitchfork to wizards-in-training ready to hurl fireballs in the name of freedom all the way to knights in shining armor mounted on their fearsome War Caterpillars. 

Improve Your Units

Don’t go thinking you should just throw away your units because new volunteers await - keep your units alive and they’ll gain valuable experience, allowing them to upgrade into more powerful types with all new tactical abilities. Every unit has multiple upgrade paths, giving you options to command all kinds of strategies.

Grow Your Leader

Jairm might be the son of simple aubergine farmers, but now he's got a new destiny ahead of him. He might not be quite ready for the role of Hero. But the Stone of Destiny is never wrong, and it's going to make sure it stays that way.

As Jairm tries again and again, he gains experience to help him take steps down the Path of Destiny. Guide what kind of leader Jairm becomes, and grow your forces to fit your strategic style. Your choices can grant Jairm everything from the ability to lead a larger army to powerful skills he can deploy to swing the tide of battle.

Loot!

Running a rebellion isn’t easy, but fortunately one of the perks of victory is sweet, sweet loot. Collect gold to upgrade your troops and hire mercenaries in a pinch. Supplies help you field an ever-larger army. And special Trinkets can grant Jairm unique and powerful abilities that can change your entire strategy.

A Different Path, Every Time

The kingdom changes every time Jairm marches onward, giving you a chance to choose which path you forge ahead on. Will you try to avoid battle and count on your luck and skill to face the challenges ahead, or will you meet the enemy head on to gather experience and glory?

Make Friends Along the Way?

As you travel, you’ll learn more about Jairm, and more about what exactly the Stone of Destiny has in store for him. On top of that, you’ll meet the weird and wild array of people who have thrown their lot in with the Tyrant King, and whether all of them are beyond redemption…
