Astray

Astray isn't amazing, but I enjoyed it. The level design is pretty basic in a few places, but other areas are quite gorgeous. Most puzzles are pretty basic. The enemy AI is dumb as a rock. The atmosphere in the museum was incredibly creepy and unsettling. In Astray, the sound of your flashlight clicking on or off is often the only sound you hear. For a couple weeks after playing, the clicking sound of my IRL flashlight in the dark & silence creeped me out enough to get goosebumps because Astray was just so unsettling. I played Outlast around the same time as this, and I found Astray to be more terrifying, more organic and less scripted (all positive things). Astray could definitely have benefitted from more writing/storytelling. Its an indie game so I can't judge it too harshly. If you enjoy the type of horror games where you are unarmed and running & hiding are your only defenses, give Astray a try. Just don't let your expectations be too high. I think lots of the negative reviews just expected too much from an indie title.

Not a very scary Horror Game but does have a nice atmosphere.And its amazing what can happen in a museum. Good little back story only 1 type of creature that you can out run and with no light it gets very dark.It lacks polish but some nice ideas for 5 bucks its got the creeps..............6.5/10

It's alright, I suppose. But not worth the price tag.

Got this for a couple of bucks Five years ago and never really bothered with it until now. It's an OK little bedroom project with environmental puzzles I guess. Not sure where the "Horror" comes into it though.

Pretty nice. Good setting, serviceable writing, lots of puzzles but none that'll make you tear out your hair. The monster AI can be a little simplistic at times though.

Excellent game. The entire premise is based on a very mysterious museum that you need to explore in order to find your uncle who is the curator. The atmosphere is moody and foreboding. The special effects and puzzles are well designed.
