For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. great!!!!!
I really like this game. The turn based combat is fun, the weapon triangles, unit types, skills and rougelike setting mix pretty well. But I want to love this game and can't quite get there. Biggest thing for me is the turn limit. I understand why it exists, it just isn't fun. Same with resource management on things like health potions. The UI is hard to navigate- I like playing on controller but the interface outside of battle work better with a mouse. I would advocate for bringing the shops together. Lastly, the roguelike nature basically neuters the character development. Technically there are campaigns for the various leaders but it is a struggle to flesh them out within the game's constraints. The leaders barely feel different from the random militia members. This may sound like a negative review, but it is a game I legitimately enjoy and would buy again tomorrow. I will absolutely buy the sequel when it comes out. Be aware before you buy that this is an indie game with some warts.

I really like the foundation here, and with some polishing it could have real potential. If a Fire Emblem style game with baked-in ironman randomizer challenge sounds appealing, then Astral Throne is right up your alley. I've seen some express concern about the round limits, but this is a soft limit that only really serves as an anti-grinding measure, and typically isn't a serious run-ending threat. I'm a big fan of the exp system, which uses stat growth as the basis for level increasing as opposed to the other way around, and once a unit's stats increase enough they can choose to gain one of three randomly chosen skills that can vary depending on the unit's class and weapons. Exp gains also scale with enemy level to keep units balanced within reason and reward performing support actions. It also has a solid soundtrack all around and a surprising amount of unique dialogue and lore details that appear depending on what Hero units you group together. What holds this game back however, is the fact it is unaccceptably buggy. Every run it seems I am encountering two or three new glitches that slightly sour the experience. But if that's something you can tolerate, there's plenty here to enjoy, and I'm hopeful the sequel will address these issues. tldr: Too many bugs 7/10
Played through one regular game and it just kind of fell flat for me. Didn't feel like I need to play it ever again after that. Maybe I'm lost on what else I would want to do after one campaign, even if I decided to play other characters or higher difficulty. It just didn't seem worth it to me.
Bought it and I couldn't move any units after the deployment screen. Changed screen sesolutions, uninsyalled and reinstalled, tried controller and mouse seperately. All in all it failed and I couldn't even play the first level. Hate to do this but a big thumbs down from me.
