Arctic Eggs

[h1]A Short, Weird Game About Frying Eggs[h1] Arctic Eggs is a game about frying eggs (and other stuff), set in a low fi cyberpunk dystopia. The world is small and primarily interacted with through short monologues given by its residents when prompted. Your place in this world is that of a “poultry guy” who runs around with a pan and tries to fry eggs and other foods for the people living in it. The frying is a minigame and the focal point of the game. You control the pan with your mouse and have to place the food in it and flip it when needed with a flick of the wrist. It is not particularly challenging, but difficult enough to keep you engaged without getting frustrating. In regards to gameplay, it reminded me a fair bit of Children of the Sun, another very artsy, low fi game that has a fairly similar artistic direction. Another game that gave me similar vibes, especially in regards to presentation and themes, is Umurangi Generation, which focuses more on storytelling than gameplay. Both of these games are phenomenal, and Arctic Eggs is no different. It is a very enjoyable mix of weirdness, comedy and occasional unexpectedly profound moments. If you enjoyed either of those games, I would 100% recommend giving Arctic Eggs a try.. If you have played neither, I would implore you to give them a try, and Arctic Eggs is as good a place to start as any.
