Old but Gold... but Old
I am only recommending this game to those who would enjoy very aged gameplay. This is a beautiful Unreal 3 Engine game, and had it been release during the peak of Unreal 3's lifespan- it would have been one of the greatest games ever made. The developers boast about the 10 year development cycle for this game, however, Unreal 3 was only supported from 2006-2015. Even in 2016, this game would have felt just as dated as it does now. For perspective- the new Star Wars Battlefront 2 released in 2017, and its presentation has held for a decade, and will continue to for another decade. If you want a deep Battlefield/Battlefront experience in a very old but stable game engine, this is it. However, I was not immersed and certain aspects of the presentation left me wanting. The UI is cluttered and the Loadout system is convoluted. The game is only 32-64 players per lobby, playing in round-based matches for about an hour at a time. There are THREE different currencies by which to upgrade your soldier/vehicles. The tactical map is detailed and impressive, but I never knew what was or wasn't a spawn point. The animations are very choppy and the character movements are much too fast for this style of game. Back in 2007, this game would have run on computers at 720-1080p at 30fps and as a result, folks would be playing it a bit slower. The fidelity and gameplay of Angels Fall First simply does not survive the 120FPS 4K world of 2026. I am hoping that post-launch development continues on this project and that it's gameplay is streamlined to work with modern gaming sensibilities. It breaks my heart to review this poorly after following the project for so long, but it's just too choppy for my enjoyment.

This is what I wish Battlefront EA would have been. This is Battlefront 2 OG, but better.
This gives STRONG Battlefront II (PS2 era) vibes. You can conduct ground operations or fight it out in space via dogfights. You can infiltrate the enemy mothership and wreak havoc before ultimately blowing up their core. Gameplay-wise, a bit jank, but it's solid. Vehicles like APCs, tanks, etc are available as well. All in all, I'd give it a solid 7/10.
please buy this game!!!!!
