Anamorphine successfully tells a story without words. I felt clever being able to understand and relate to some of the mindbending visuals the game was introducing. I was intrigued with a weird (but good) feeling inside of my gut as I was exploring each section.
Experienced on Windows Mixed Reality, Samsung Odyssey+
VR Review Only. You can view my full review here: https://youtu.be/0pFWewYJlpA Although VR support was taken off the store page by the developer, I can confirm that as of today (January 2, 2020) that VR still works fine. However, I would warn anyone to not buy this for the VR experience in the future as who knows when and if the VR will stop functioning properly without official support. There is full locomotion with smooth turning or teleportation. Your motion controllers are used as a gamepad (you might as well use your gamepad). This is a walking simulator for VR. It took me approximately 2 hours to finish the game. The gameplay involved a lot of walking from point A to point B and also gazing at certain objects, or getting close enough to them, to progress the story. There is no dialogue. The whole story is told through the visuals & mood of the game. However, several game assets are repeated often, including the use of a bicycle. You'll be seeing your apartment, the desert, the hospital, and the concert hall repeatedly throughout the game. You'll walk around in circles during several parts of the game, seeing slight differences on your way around, with repeated assets in different places. To add insult to injury, the game's graphics look bad, like Xbox 360 era bad, and there are several frame rate issues. While there are certain poignant moments in this game, dealing with serious subjects such as mental illness, depression, drug & alcohol abuse, relationship problems, & not being able to play the cello after a serious accident, the story is purposely vague. Not only that, certain messages and themes in that story are repeated several times over. For sure, there are some clever tricks the devs used to make you feel the seriousness of the subject matter, however, those tricks are oft-repeated. It's amazing how many times stuff is repeated in this game given that it's such a short experience. If repetition were the only problem, this wouldn't be such a bad game, however, the bugs in this game turn it into every bit of a pain for you as it is for the protagonists in the story. There were several times where I had to teleport through doors to progress in this game. I also had several pathing issues using the bike where it took several attempts and lots of patience to get through that section of the game. Finally, as a bit of crescendo to it all, the game ends abruptly showing a black screen on your HMD. A quick look at your desktop screen shows the credits rolling. Rate 3.5/10. I really enjoy good walking simulators. This is an awful one.

An awesome game, I enjoyed my playthrough. Some of the highlights: - Purely visual storytelling - Interesting use of perspective changes - Great soundtrack - Multiple endings I recommend it to everybody who wants to see a unique take on a serious aspect of the human condition.

Vive support is totally nonexistent. I doubt the game runs in any VR setup at all. It either black screens permanently or sticks your camera to the ceiling and does not allow you to move nor interact with anything. The developers said that it was a known issue that would be patched within a few days of release. The known issue is that they did not have time to implement VR but wanted customer money from promising VR support anyway. It's been 15+ days, and they've disappeared without a word.
https://youtu.be/Oa-2XlTz9RI Great story and animation. I tottaly recommand this game. I've played it for 1 hour so far. Loven it
Quel ennui...
Great game that is not afraid to tackle really tough subjects that really make you think and feel, and does it elegantly.
