From the creators of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Dear Esther comes a new first-person horrorgame that will drag you to the depths of greed, power and madness. It will bury its snout into your ribs and it will eat your heart.

this was our machine for pigs not as good as tdd but that's a very high bar, if there was more to the gameplay it would be worth revisiting one day but pretty good game for a one and done.
Genuinely one of the best stories I've had the pleasure of playing through. True victorian gem. I don't care about people who berate the game for being a walking simulator. Top 2 Amnesia Game right after the first one.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The story and the ending in this game for me were just 👌 Everyone want the game to be how They think it should be, and this is why all the games are a mess these days. How about You just enjoy the story the developers tried to tell and be thankful You live in an age where You can experience it. A lot of people hate on this title... Sad, very sad.
A Machine for Pigs is the sequel to Amnesia: The Dark Descent. While taking place in the same universe and sharing many of the same mechanics, it still manages to ring hollow when compared to the original Amnesia experience. It feels like the studio that took over production for the second game failed to realise what factored in to make the first game great. By removing the previously required management of your matches and oil, and your insanity level, the game turns into even more of a simplified walking simulator without any friction (hehe). Especially the start of the game feels both narratively and atmospherically significantly less compelling and spooky than The Dark Descent. The plot seems much too obvious, the events and motivations of characters don't feel as believable and thus you don't even feel the urge to explore the mystery at hand as badly. Later on, partly due to the lack of any insanity mechanic, the monsters aren't half as scary this time around and they aren't implemented or used as effectively. Also of note is that the FPS is locked to 60 or 40, which I'm not completely sure is intentional – but either way feels bad, though you can probably fix that without too much of a hassle. At least narratively, I have to say though that A Machine for Pigs does pick up a bit in the latter half. The climactic final chapters have an urgent, dramatic and relatively tense atmosphere to them, though the final boss doesn't really feel like it's in the spirit of Amnesia. The ending manages to feel quite emotional and provides some small twists and good closure, though there aren't multiple endings either this time around. All in all, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is a decent horror-themed walking simulator of a game with good polish. The worst thing about it is that it's preceded by such an excellent game. https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45291928/ • Not scary. • No atmosphere. • The blue tint filter and fog makes it hard to see what's going on. • Poor graphics. • Sanity and inventory mechanics removed, turning this into a walking sim. • Uninteresting hook. • Info and notes spammed rather than placed smartly. • Extreme lack of interactables and physics objects. • Lots of reused assets. • No workshop support. • The game stutters and has FPS drops when loading into new areas, and the loading screens aren't even cropped properly for widescreen displays.
Not as scary as TDD or the Penumbra games, imo, but the story was excellent and the initial play-through was nice, since I was mostly blind going into it. I'd recommend it, but not as highly as the games I previously mentioned.
Game is very average compared to the Dark Descent. The story is not engaging. I felt at times that I just wanted to rush through the game so I can move on to Bunker or SOMA. I was nowhere near as invested into Oswald Mundus as I was with Daniel from Dark Descent. The puzzles weren't bad. The game can crash at times, which just added to the frustration of finishing it. Again if any of y'all enjoyed the game, wonderful! More power to ya. Don't let me steel the thunder lol. Just wasn't enjoyable for me.
Не очень игра.
They call her a walking simulator, well guess what I call her? MY MASTERPIECE. More time for me to admire the stunning scenery, OST, story and voice acting. (I love the art direction in this game so much but I don't need to state the facts multiple times like a mad man.) What I think could be improved: - The death scenes were lackluster, would be better to see the Man pigs up close mauling Oswald alive. - The puzzles could definitely be more challenging, and making the enemies more of a threat during these situations would add more tension. - Being able to out run Man pigs is alright, because in a way it makes them more real (at least to me) but it would be much better if some could outrun you. Also, the Telsa Pig, I wish they were more of a bigger and challenging threat but if you know.. basically just keep outrunning your problems. Final thoughts, would LOVE to see a remake of this game, it has tons of potential to be more visually horrifying, challenging and tense enough to have you on the edge of your seat. Anyways my favorite Amnesia game ever, I like my Amnesia the way I like my coffee.
