ALONE? is a spooky first person adventure that seems to have been put together using a first person adventure game construction kit, and features a bunch of what look like asset store models. The plot is routine for these kinds of games, you're in a dark spooky house and you have to wander around the rooms with occasional mild jump scares while clicking on the right things to "solve" the simplistic puzzles. There's nothing special here, the game doesn't support beyond HD resolution and the art assets all seem like asset flips. It's just way too mediocre to recommend.
This game is broken in nearly every way, yet serves as a good example for other developers on what not to do. Controls are clunky, and menus are buggy. There are typos and spelling errors throughout. There glitches like accidentally falling out of the house into the skybox when walking into corners, getting permanently stuck between walls, and seeing through walls at some intersections. On top of that there is very little to the game beyond walking around, with the negligible number of puzzles seemingly an afterthought to classify the game nominally as a puzzle game. The "endings" are confusing and also seem broken. Overall, not worth the time spent, even if free. Unfortunately I bought the Deceptive Games Horror Bundle, and if this game is an example of what to expect -- I just wasted a lot of money on junk.

Start of the game feels promising but the further you played it got worse and story or level design etc. is nothing special. one time playable but maybe i cannot recommended it so 5/10 not very bad but not much of anything good in this forgettable game after played through. Good thing is game price is very cheap to play one time through.
It's not terrible but no one needs to actually take the time to play this. It's just very basic and not very well executed. It's your standard Steam horror where you're in a creepy house and you have to find out what happened to your sister, you get some spooks and story along the way. The first problem is, the story is terrible. Your sister has invited you back to the family home in a letter and you find more of her notes around the house which detail some historic negative connotations with the house and there's the usual nonsense of cults and demons and so on. And then it's wrapped up awfully in what I assume is meant to be setup for a sequel. Gameplay wise it's all very basic. You're never actually under any threat from the demon except at the very end so the scares are essentially limited to the demon momentarily appearing in a doorway, or a brief flicker of your vision turning red. You go about, collect items/keys to unlock more of the house, and that's it. It takes an hour to get 3 of the 4 endings, and I didn't care enough to track the last one down. And if this review didn't indicate enough that the developer must have just thrown this out the door without a second glance, the game itself tells you this - they never bothered to remove the early access indicator on the main menu for the steam release. Just avoid.
I have mixed feelings around this game. The atmosphere was pretty good, but the progression and conclusion felt lacking. I found myself working towards an end goal and not really ever reaching it, so it all felt a bit pointless. Movement was a bit janky.
its decent
A reasonably spooky way to spend an hour in the evening, despite the ridiculously bad mouse controls. Don't pay more than £1 for it though.
