About
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 drops up to four players into the boots of Colonial Marines deployed to the most hostile corners of the Aliens universe. This is not a rescue mission – it’s a fight for survival. Xenomorphs stalk the corridors, ambush from the shadows, and swarm in overwhelming numbers. Every room could be your last. Coordinate with your fireteam, leverage each class’s unique abilities, and adapt on the fly as encounters escalate from tense standoffs to all-out war. With deeper squad mechanics, smarter enemies, and a fully customizable Specialist class, AFE2 delivers the definitive co-op Aliens experience.

Join our Discord server, Marine.
Expanding from three to four players, AFE2 introduces deeper team-based mechanics that reward coordination and strategic class composition. New and improved classes each bring distinct playstyles and tactical abilities to the fight, making every squad combination feel different.
The iconic xenomorphs are more ferocious than ever before. AFE2's massive variety of new xenomorphs will force players to stay mobile, maintain situational awareness, and use every tool at their disposal. From stun batons for up close melee action in those most desperate moments, to pyro and electric ammo to whittle down the unrelenting xenomorph front before they overrun you and your squad, the battle can shift from calculated tension to desperate last stand in seconds.
Beyond expanded weapon and gear customization, AFE2 introduces the Specialist – a fully customizable class that lets players mix and match major and minor abilities from every available class. Build a loadout tailored to your exact playstyle and fill whatever role your squad needs.
AFE2 launches with multiple dedicated Horde maps that push squads to their limits. Battle through escalating waves of xenomorphs and other deadly enemies, earning increasingly valuable rewards as you survive deeper into the onslaught. This is where teamwork and skill are tested at their absolute peak.

Reviews
TLDR: Just another LV with just another bug hunt. This is a soft Yes, there are some caveats here, and can(and maybe should) turn this into a No. If your a fan of the previous game/Aliens and/or you have some friends to play this game with then yea you might want to play it or catch it on a sale. I feel that the game has no soul. The first AFE was launched with a novel telling the events before the marines arrived which made the game story a little bit better. I don't believe AFE2 has that at time of review. Pros The alternate weapon feature(fire mode or under barrel) for some guns) New enemy types for each faction. Additional player slot making it four players rather than three. weapon systems(attachments) features added to make unique combinations with weapons. Challenge cards are unlocked forever Maps are wide and small at the same time. it does feel like your exploring the whole area before moving on. Neutral When you max weapons they become usable by other classes.(As much as I like it It also hurts more IMO when you have a build your own class. Other classes become less unique to defined roles like in AFE 1) Areas have lots of cover to prevent funneling.(I do like some of the designs of the maps and layout. giving xenos and pathogen multiple ways of assaulting you. However there still some areas and places where if your clever enough or just trying it you can figure it out ways to funnel). Hidden boxes only have one cosmetic reward(It would be nice if you could get more rewards that scale with less players in the match)(maybe include some basic T1 challenge cards and T1 perks and some money thrown in). Very lack luster especially when there are times with maps have 2 or more cases on the map. Cons Gathering collectables/intel is the same little device. AFE 1 had unique collectables. which just leads me more that this is just a horde shooter rather than an aliens horde shooter. I hate the words intel and hotshot in this game. you can start a drinking challenge and have alcohol poisoning by mission 1.3(it feels like) Encountered a bug with the final boss fight at the start/loading screen which takes any wind(you may have) out of the sails. Boss battle was very lack luster. AFE 1 queen fight was nice lead up and hard fight at the end that felt earned when you won. The story. Personally check out of the story on mission 1.2 or 1.3. The new characters and old are annoying and are just checking boxes. Raptor feels like he wont shut up. Piper is overly chippy. Ko looks like she can eat a banana sideways. Ester has be using the jawzrsize. maps or areas are xeno/synth/pathogen exclusive. There are some areas where xenos are battling with synths, or pathogen is battling synths. No in pathogen v xeno(which might be because of the story.) Bugs I've encountered some bugs when it comes to unlocks there are missions where you can find multiple hidden boxes and even getting show what was in the box but ultimately at end of mission only shown one, and issues when leveling equipment fast that the game doesn't seem to record/catch that I leveled up classes and gear. causing me to redo or lose player rank unlocks.(example my player rank is 38 and at 36 is a pilot helmet, but because I was leveling fast by repeating a match the game/servers didnt catch that.)

if you liked the first one you'll like this one too. Im looking forward to sinking in a lot of hours on this one too!
its really fun game but its very buggy so hopefully they fix it
This game just stinks. The progression system is cool and the gameplay loop is cool. But the gameplay, the voice acting, the levels... stink. If you don't turn on the damage numbers, you cant tell if youre hitting the enemies.
At this time I cannot recommend buying this game, despite the fact that it's pretty solid gameplay wise. on my system mid-mission cutscenes 'finish' to infinite black screens on Linux. If this issue ends up fixed I'll recommend it, but I just spent nearly four hours trying to fix the issue to no solution beyond 'play with others so when you restart the game you reconnect to after the cutscene'. I have managed to find a workaround, the game uses a video codex that is not shipped with the core Proton versions due to licensing issues, running game with the latest version of Proton GE (a community maintained fork) has fixed the issue for me, but note that others are saying doing this does not fix the problem universally.

I know I havent played enough to experience the real thing but I played a whole mission only for the host to drop at the end and receiving no xp for my items/ class and im not willing to repeat the prologue cause it was boring. might revisit at a later time.
Probably worth closer to $40, but the game has more build depth than it sells itself as. You level weapons to get blanket perks or even use them on other classes before unlocking DRG-Overclock style augments for each weapon. There's also elemental effects to play around and modifiers for abilities. Definitely grab on sale.
I enjoy this game. It's fun. For the love of ♥♥♥♥, let us leave Horde Mode matches without forfeiting the reward. I'm sick of losing all progress because my braindead team wanted to stay and it forced me to die with their stupid asses.
This could end up being a really good sequel to Fireteam Elite 1. In its current form, it's a waste of money. Less content, buggy, what content IS there feels like it's just copy and pasted from the first. Missing classes from the first too. Just play the first.
