About
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 drops up to four players into the boots of Colonial Marines deployed to the most hostile corners of the Aliens universe. This is not a rescue mission – it’s a fight for survival. Xenomorphs stalk the corridors, ambush from the shadows, and swarm in overwhelming numbers. Every room could be your last. Coordinate with your fireteam, leverage each class’s unique abilities, and adapt on the fly as encounters escalate from tense standoffs to all-out war. With deeper squad mechanics, smarter enemies, and a fully customizable Specialist class, AFE2 delivers the definitive co-op Aliens experience.

Join our Discord server, Marine.
Expanding from three to four players, AFE2 introduces deeper team-based mechanics that reward coordination and strategic class composition. New and improved classes each bring distinct playstyles and tactical abilities to the fight, making every squad combination feel different.
The iconic xenomorphs are more ferocious than ever before. AFE2's massive variety of new xenomorphs will force players to stay mobile, maintain situational awareness, and use every tool at their disposal. From stun batons for up close melee action in those most desperate moments, to pyro and electric ammo to whittle down the unrelenting xenomorph front before they overrun you and your squad, the battle can shift from calculated tension to desperate last stand in seconds.
Beyond expanded weapon and gear customization, AFE2 introduces the Specialist – a fully customizable class that lets players mix and match major and minor abilities from every available class. Build a loadout tailored to your exact playstyle and fill whatever role your squad needs.
AFE2 launches with multiple dedicated Horde maps that push squads to their limits. Battle through escalating waves of xenomorphs and other deadly enemies, earning increasingly valuable rewards as you survive deeper into the onslaught. This is where teamwork and skill are tested at their absolute peak.

Fun game, builds upon the first. It has occasional bugs, but nothing game breaking yet. Definitely recommend.

Cannot recommend this game right now in its current state. I have lost count on the amount of times a door has failed to open/locked itself before the entire team walks through (yes people still explorer or don't stick with the group, or run ahead). Only to run into a the inevitable "everyone needs to be here" to progress. Additionally, the amount of times an FMV plays that leads to to a black unrecoverable screen that has sounds, subtitles, noises... Which leads to me forcing a close, re-open, sit through all that opening garbage, to try and reconnect (maybe it does, maybe it doesn't) for the FMV to play again and end with with several possibilities, A) Let me resume playing, B) Let me stand still unable to move, C) Lets the enemy kill me. D) Goes back to a black screen. A couple other of things that happen from time to time, swapping armor swaps the gender of the character/look of the head. The head vanishes randomly and I need to re-customize the character. Makes this a regret buy at this point in time.
Disclaimer: Huge Aliens fan + enjoyed AFT1 Overall, I'm having a great time with the game. Are there some performance hiccups? Yes. Not to the degree as others have stated admittedly, I just have some stuttering and frame drops when entering a new area (Probably because the map loads in sections than the entire map being loaded at once.) The game is pretty fluent and smooth for me personally during the most important parts of the game, the shooting and chaos of having a horde of Xenos closing in to tear your face off. I feel that they will optimize the game better as time goes on. You got your progression and class build system from the first game. Along with the new specialist class which will be interesting once you unlock it. I'm thoroughly enjoying ranking up my weapons and swapping to a new one once I max out a weapon. So far the weapons I've used and unlocked all feel good to use and have their role to play. Alot of attachments you can purchase at the shop or randomly can find/earn as rewards at the end of a mission. Tons of challenge cards like in the first game to add more rewards and challenge to the game. Speaking of challenge, I feel that this installment is a bit more challenging than the previous one. Challenging but fair. The AI is definitely better than in the first one, Xenos crawl and flank you instead of just running at you straight (some still do when theres a horde, but they're definitely a bit more tactical and use the environment, better pathing to you). The only time I've had a bad run is when my team honestly made bad calls or tried rushing and not sticking together. Having an extra marine in this installment didn't make it easier. I can play the game on maxed graphical settings, it looks good if thats something that matters to you. For a shoot em up horde shooter it really looks good. The environment (especially in the later missions) is great to the eye and gets me immersed. Feels proper with the lighting and shadows given its an Alien title. I definitely can get immersed into the game, it feels proper for the Alien setting and it sucks me in just fine. The sounds do feel a bit off, especially for our beautiful pulse rifle, but I read its due to that they couldn't get the licensing to use the OG sound. Its not terrible... but its noticeable for any fan of the franchise and gets you like... "wha...what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minute... that ain't my pulse rifle!!!". As of now I'm 12hrs in, still playing the class I started with, still unlocking and trying things. Having a blast knowing theres tons of other content to sink my teeth into with all the other classes and unlocks. For $50 though + day one DLC... If you're on the fence, you can definitely wait for a sale. I'd feel better if this was closer to $40 as yes... its similar to the 1st game. On the other side of the same coin, there is depth, and the upgrade from UE4 to 5 is understandable for them to make a sequel. I can give it a solid 7/10 - More optimization, getting rid of the stutters and random frame drops in maps... I can give it a 8/10. Maybe once I unlock more and get to try building my own class of Marine (specialist), maybe it will just blow me out of the water with the crazy combinations you can do and it would be a 9/10 at that point. Very good game for me overall.
I had fun, dont expect this to be perfect. A few bugs, story is cliche, a few things I would like to charge, but overall - very enjoyable on release, runs great on my very mid machine. I more leave this review review to support development. It really is not as bad as people say.
to expensive
Friend bought me this game to play together. We watched Aliens (1986) right before. Game was a blast, story was perfect for the universe, in my opinion. Skill tree for the classes feel cool and fun to play with. Plenty of guns to pick from. WillContinueToPlay/10 oh, and +2 for having a horde mode
I love the first game but Jesus ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Christ, what happened? Major performance issues aside, and trust me there are a lot, I don't think this game will get much better with patching. The Dialog, for the most part, is ass. The characters are stupid and quirky... that's their entire personality. Ko, so far, is the only one that's okay, but she'll still whine about my dialog options. I'm sorry that Hotshot was written to be a dumb ♥♥♥♥... I don't have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ choice there. Also, the head of the ship is named Shipp and the head of the armory is Wrench... I'm glad everyone has a nickname based on their job. Dumb. Voice Actors sound bored as ♥♥♥♥ in tense situations. Music is... okay. I fell like it's not as good as the first game but it is what it is. Sound effects are mostly fine, though some feel weak and some are +10db compared to everything else. The AI is all over the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ place and I really don't know if they're bugged or what, but damn. Take them off the meth and give them brains please. Level design doesn't make sense. For example, why would we go down a single file double stairwell, through a double door, into a down slope double wide stairwell, into a barracks (from the Bomb Squad mission, fyi)? Why is every mission go to point 1, hold out, go to point 2, hold out, rinse and repeat? I haven't gotten to the end, so hopefully there's more variety later on.
I will say outright, they need server engineers to work on the communication problems that sometimes occur between P2P connection. And that every time that I load a new mission I should not have to change my settings back to private lobby so I can avoid matchmaking. After completing the campaign, twice so far on steadily increasing difficulties, I can firmly say this game is great. Writing is whatever in my opinion. "Woke" character npcs in the game aren't really a thing - Aliens has always had strong female leads, get over yourselves chuds. Graphics: 7/10 Player animations: 6/10 Story: 7/10 Gameplay: 8/10 Mechanics: 6/10 (they need some polishing) There are currently bugs in the game that soft lock the player on progression in missions which needs immediate hot fixing. It is severely disappointing that this hasnt been addressed yet. Yes players can get locked behind doors if a friendly player progresses too far forward thus preventing them from joining in on any fire fights. This can be mitigated by teleporting all players (and npc companions) to the current objective or firefight. Optimization, I am running a 3090 and haven't had issues. Most players complaining about lagging or stuttering most likely have not actually dug into their BIOS to optimize their machine. I can confirm that AMD users will suffer performance wise on this game as it appears that anyone who hosts a match that has an AMD CPU will run into lagging and buffering/longer load times. It is clear that this game was optimized for Intel and Nvidia users mainly. I will say that this is a huge negative on the devs part for failing to account for this. Overall: 6/10 Game is a blast and highly challenging even with friends. It does NOT spoon feed you like most shooters. So if you enjoy a challenge, dislike hand holding, and have friends; pick up this game. If you think that just because a woman is in a game it's woke and bad, ignore this game and don't buy it. I suggest you actually read/watch the aliens series/movies so you can understand and enjoy the game. Otherwise your BS negative reviews are wasting everyone else's time.
Buy in sale tbh. The story is absolute garbage, the NPC chatter is annoying and extremely cringe, the characters feel selfinserts from cringe devs. Why you're doing what you're doing on the planets is quite vague if I say so myself from just the info we get ingame, because the hub story, god knows 99.99% of people will skip every single dialogue as fast as they can humanly manage after hearing the NPC's talk, seriously. But it's annoying that it's literally just "go to this area, grab intel, decode intel, grab new intel, decode intel, congrats extract" and that is it for every single mission. AFTE1 imo had decent story compared to this. At least it felt more logical. (story at times also makes no sense with their reactions to engineers/engineer ships. Since we've visited those in the first game... same with the new xenomorphs...) Gameplay however is decent, somewhat buggy/floaty. Less easy to see movement paths of enemies compared to the first game, but more "go to area, stay and defend for 30 seconds, push 30m, defend for 30 seconds, push 100m, defend for 40 seconds, push find location where you were told to find intel, defend for ~2 minutes, go to location to decode the intel, defend for ~2 minutes, push to next location of intel and repeat the push defend thing. It's decent for gameplay loop tbf. Build power, now I only did engineer (machinist) till max. And although it seems there is more build variety, they added some weird perks like 3 times of the same size which is strange? So for example, you'd expect a 2 slot 1hp for second regen for turret for a lvl 1. A 3 slot 2hp/s for lvl2. Instead You get lvl 1,2,3 each as a seperate 2 slot bar for 1hp/s. And there are several types like that which just weirds me out. But yea, decent game improvements if you enjoyed the first game, but not worth at full price honestly. (also they made the cover system janked and shoulder switch for changed for no real reason.
