Ale & Tale Tavern

Overall, a very fun game with mesmerizing gameplay that can keep me pulled in for hours at a time. As others have said, could definitely use some extra polish but gameplay in and of itself is repetitive enough to not require too much brain power if you want something that is easy to get into the flow of after a stressful day (or while also listening to audiobooks), but still requires enough attention to keep things interesting and engaging. In terms of small qualms, the characters that enter the tavern lack any semblance of diversity or even really, well, character. I would love to be able to interact with them to flesh out the world better, as well as get at least a few non-White characters. The biggest thing that ruins it for me is the, as someone else put so well, "horny teenager art style and dialogue," which I could not agree with more. Nearly every woman (if not EVERY woman) in this game is wearing very little, which is fine on its own because I love crop tops and shorts myself but it reaches a point where you wonder what's going on in the minds of the developers, especially when paired with constant references to porn and sex throughout the game. None of it is tasteful, just crude and at times disturbing. With that said, I do love this game and I applaud the developers for making it with what I understand was a small team, but I think it best operates as a game to turn my brain off and half pay attention to. If you can look past the issues and are just looking for something satisfying to kill time with, especially with a friend or two, I would recommend.
