A competitive turn-based strategy game where positioning, unit synergy, and map control decide everything. Capture structures, build your army, and outplay your opponents in tactical battles with up to 8 players.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.
About

FEATURES

Every move matters — positioning, timing, and unit synergy determine victory.

Combat is fully deterministic. There are no dice rolls or hidden mechanics — success comes from planning, positioning, and understanding unit interactions.
Terrain, class advantages, and synergies all play a critical role in every engagement.

Master the battlefield and prove your strategy is superior.

Reviews
Updated review: In mere days after I made my complaints known in my review, a number of fixes and improvements went into effect. Pros: - Undo button is free (original complaint was that paywalling this feature feels arbitrary and scummy) - All factions can be earned in-game (I'm not sure how long this will take, as I haven't gotten a lot of achievements yet) - $49.99 game package is a significant deal vs buying the included factions individually - The game is free, and now that undo button is available, I consider the whole base "game" to actually be free Cons: - The game still has some bugs. There should be a steam disclaimer that this game is in early access, as the issues (and also features to come) are significant - Still not 100% sure how to feel about the balance of factions that cost 5 times as much as the $10 ones, but as they can theoretically be earned in game, this is not a huge issue (unless earning them in-game turns out to be near-impossible) - Purchasing the Campaigns for factions does not include the faction (at least to my knowledge). Really this is more of a con in terms of the faction campaigns being a bit confusing in what they include or exclude. Consider making bundles where a faction and faction campaign can be bought at some kind of bundle discount, or potentially make a campaign for each paid faction and include them together by default? Idk, minor complaint/criticism. TLDR: The game is free. It's fun and will give some nestalgia to those who played the original. The dev obviously cares about this game and is very quick to respond and make changes for the betterment of the game. In the current state of the game, I'd give it a 6/10, which is pretty good for a game I haven't paid for (yet).

i’ve been playing age of gods a decent bit now. the developer invited me to be a beta tester and its honestly one of those games that just pulls you in without you realizing it. like you start a match thinking it’ll be quick and next thing you know you’ve been playing for hours the strategy is where it really hits. its not just spam units and hope for the best, you actually have to think about positioning, matchups, terrain, timing, all of it. ive had games where i was sure i was gonna lose and then flipped it with one good move. those moments feel sooo good theres also just a ton of content, especially for a free game. like way more than i expected. campaigns, factions, tons of units and they all feel usefull. nothing really feels like filler which is kinda rare tbh. you can tell whoever made it actually cared about how everything plays multiplayer has been solid too. not a massive playerbase or anything but the people playing are into it and games feel competetive without being toxic. kinda reminds me of older online games where people just played cuz they liked it the monetization didnt really bother me either. yeah theres paid stuff but you dont feel forced into it. you can unlock a lot just by playing and the paid stuff feels more like supporting the game than pay to win only real downside is it can be a little confusing at first, theres a lot going on and the ui isnt perfect. but once you get it its fine overall it just feels like a game someone actually put passion into instead of just trying to cash grab. if youre into strategy games at all its def worth trying, i can easily see myself dumping a ton of hours into this lol
Age of Gods delivers a rich, turn-based strategy experience that keeps your mind constantly engaged. Its depth and complexity make every decision count, whether you're progressing through the campaign or competing in PvP, offering a rewarding challenge for players who enjoy strategic thinking.
Has a great nostalgic factor to playing this game, as I used to love playing Armies of Gelinor. Considering this is a free game, having a lot of fun playing the campaign so far! Hopefully, they will continue to improve and polish the game further.
NICE
Been having a really good time with Age of Gods. The gameplay is fun and there are consistently a lot of players online, so it doesn’t feel dead. There’s a ton of free content. campaigns, units, and more. so you can play a lot without spending anything. If you do want more, there’s plenty of paid content to upgrade your experience. The giveaways are also a really nice touch, and honestly what stands out most is how much the developer seems to care about the game and the community. Definitely worth checking out.
Overall, this game has solid depth. Don't be scared off by the microtransactions, those exist solely as optional ways to support the developer and skip through content. There is good depth between unit interactions, good variation between matches, and a lot of difficult campaign levels to explore with the base-game.
Like playing chess but 10 times more enjoyable.
This casual strategy game has surprisingly deep mechanics. Beneath its simple presentation lies a layered system that rewards careful planning, smart resource management, and long-term thinking without ever feeling overwhelming. The developer has an active presence—updates roll out frequently, feedback is clearly heard, and issues get addressed quickly.
