predatory gatcha cashgrab for kids time gated progression on top of money gated progression, there is almost no worse way to make a "game". questing is the most annoying thing i have ever seen in any game in my 30+ years of gaming. dailys are done very bad with no fun but meaningless work and grind attatched to it. on the one hand, they try to be a serious strategy game, but on the other hand, they cram gacha mechanics and childish graphics on top, and that ruins everything.

PROS - Beautiful character designs and charming art style. - Relaxing progression that's easy to enjoy casually. - Plenty of game modes and regular events. - Excellent collaborations that feel meaningful and well-produced. Cons - The core gameplay becomes repetitive over time. - Different game modes often revolve around the same gameplay loop. - Progression can slow down significantly in the later stages. VERDICT AFK Journey is a polished and charming gacha game that knows exactly what it wants to be. While the core gameplay can become repetitive over time, its beautiful character designs, relaxing progression, and polished presentation make it a game I genuinely enjoy coming back to. I also have to give the developers credit for their collaborations, whether it's Fairy Tail, Dungeon Meshi, or Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, every crossover has been genuinely well executed and feels like more than just an excuse to sell new characters. They're the kind of events that are actually worth experiencing rather than skipping. If the developers can continue delivering collaborations of this quality while expanding the gameplay, I'll happily keep coming back. 4/5

It has been a while since I last played this game, but I did play it quite a bit around 1-2 years back. Checked in and it's still as beautiful as ever. I would recommend this game for casual players looking for some eye-candy as the best feature of this game is the beautiful art, and music as well. The story quality is not very consistent as there are different seasons with different stories. Just understand that this game is still P2W so if you play competitively, then expect to sink in a lot of $$$. Nonetheless, the game can still be enjoyed by free players. While I mentioned "seasons" these events are not time-gated and they can be replayed any time. There are limited characters and events, but the core gameplay can be played casually - thus the name "AFK journey".

Играла на релизе с телефона, потом надоела ежедневная рутина и забросила. Да, порой слишком много "выгодных предложений" на квадратный сантиметр, но если б я играла все это время, то вполне смогла бы собрать метовых персов бесплатно. Даже в нынешней ситуации с большим перерывом я не ощущаю желания дропнуть игру. То, что выгодно отличает ее от АФК-арены - это сюжет. Его действительно интересно проходить. Так же на мой вкус художественный стиль тут хорош, а персонажи действительно на /любой/ вкус. Я не играла больше в гачу, где было бы такое разнообразие. Увы, разрабы почему-то взяли курс на урезание контента, отменяя активности сезона, вроде квестов на репутацию, но пока будем посмотреть. Надеюсь, у игры есть будущее.

Progression locked and you have to wait hours after every main chapter.

(i have about 200 hours on the mobile version prior to playing it here) yes, it's quite p2w and the meta shifts very quickly and immensely (looking at you, frieren) but if you're interested in the story (which is lovely and has great voice acting too) and don't care about competitive / pvp elements then the game is perfect for you! there's also a lot of story content so you still have lots of stuff to do (also pls add linux support :3)
