Difficulty level
Aeterna Noctis features two game modes. If you are a lover of Metroidvania games, in Aeterna Noctis there is a perfect game mode for you, the Aeterna Mode. However, if extreme challenges and platforming are what you want, you are a Noctis Mode player. But do you know what the differences are between these game modes? We explain it to you.

- Aeterna Mode (A pure Metroidvania experience)
In essence, the game has been completely redesigned to offer you as a player a 100% Metroidvania experience where action and exploration are the protagonists.

- Noctis Mode (Platforms and extreme challenges)
By playing on this mode, you will not only have to explore and recover your powers, but you will also face constant puzzles, platform sections and challenges only recommended for the most demanding players.
What if I started in Noctis mode and the difficulty is too much for me? Or... What if I started in Aeterna mode but want a more challenging experience?
The player can switch between one mode or the other at any time without losing progress and reloading the game at the last save point, allowing the Aeterna Noctis experience to be shaped at your will. However, there are achievements that can only be unlocked on Noctis Mode.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Stupid platforming
If you love hard platforming in your metroidvanias, this game is like an all-you-can-eat buffet. The difficulty can get a bit wild, but luckily this game is very generous with check-points so barring some hardest optional stuff you won't have to redo big chunks of ii. Some levels of Aeterna Noctis are really creative and eye-candies, and I can only take my hat off to the creator's imagination as I've never seen anything like this in other MVs. The game is not flawless, but I think that the highs are so powerful that they easily eclipse the lows. Cheers.
之前一大堆跳跳乐我都忍了,梦境王国是有点过分了。这游戏我觉得不能算作类银,应该归类到精确平台游戏里。 看更新了终极版,重新下回来,在宇宙跳跳乐又破防了,弃了。
Aeterna Noctis is a 2D metroidvania with beautiful, hand-drawn graphics and a moody atmosphere that is let down by it's simplicity in the early stages, it's painful writing and what seems to be very minor input delay. Simplicity: The Aeterna is just too boring in its early stages - attack, basic jump and a dash you unlock like 20min in. The combat is boring with these mechanics alone - you can just pogo every enemy and they have zero counter. Painful writing: The game is edgy - you play as the King of Darkness, cursed with immortality, etc. etc. The dialouge is pretty cringy and instead of teaching you mechanics through gameplay, the game tries to sometimes extremely clunkily insert them diagetically into conversation and then other times the NPC just breaks immersion completely and flat out explains basic mechanics to you. Minor input delay: There is a certain amount of sluggishness to your jumps, movement and attacks. Almost as if there is a very slight input delay between hitting the button and your character reacting to it. It makes judging jumps, dashing to avoid attacks and attacking before the enemy does annoying. Could probably get used to it over the whole run time, but chose not to subject myself to it. The other minor nitpick is with the art style - the neon platforms in some of the areas horribly clash with the rest of the wonderful aesthetic. It feels like Ubisoft yellow paint almost. In general, I would only recommend this game on a massive discount if you're really, really hurting for a metroidvania and like the art style.
The definition of "Well, that was fun, I'm never doing it again." unforgiving platforming, though thankfully the actual combat isn't nearly as back breaking with the right gems, was still a nice lengthy metroidvania once you got past the jank
geiles spiel. Wer meint, dass das Spiel zu schwer ist, ist lowkey am Trollen.
Llego al juego años tardes, pero para mi un auténtico juegazo en mi top de metroidvanias. Aún no lo he terminado pero disfrutando cada minuto.
