Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 3 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Immortal and the death that follows looks better than this crap they aren’t even the real developers i regret buying this crap
Won’t go past the initial main screen on the steam deck. Hopefully this eventually gets updated to work. As of right now I can’t recommend it.

this is an amazing fighting game that is not too challanging and has super smooth controlls and you really should try it if you like a game that lets you be a complete badass, its amazing
Aeon Must Die!, developed by Limestone Games and published by Focus Entertainment, is an experimental beat ’em up that seeks to redefine the boundaries of its genre through striking visual design and unconventional mechanics. Set in a dystopian sci-fi universe steeped in betrayal, vengeance, and the collapse of empires, it tells the story of a warrior forced to share his body with a fallen god. You play as a host merged with the spirit of Aeon, an exiled emperor whose quest for revenge drags both entities into a violent struggle for dominance and survival. The result is a visually mesmerizing and thematically ambitious experience that stands apart from typical action games, even if its execution is often uneven and divisive. From the very first frame, Aeon Must Die overwhelms the senses with its aesthetic intensity. The art direction is unapologetically bold, utilizing a vivid palette of neon contrasts and jagged character silhouettes to create a visual style that feels like a fever dream rendered in motion. The environments pulse with energy, and every encounter plays out against surreal backdrops that evoke cosmic decay and industrial ruin. The comic book-inspired cutscenes and cinematic framing give the impression that each fight is part of a graphic novel come to life. Accompanied by a pulsating synth soundtrack that perfectly matches its futuristic tone, the game builds an atmosphere that is both oppressive and captivating. It’s clear that style is a central pillar of Aeon Must Die’s identity, and even when the gameplay falters, its aesthetic power remains undeniable. The core gameplay mechanics diverge sharply from the conventions of traditional beat ’em ups. Instead of relying on the usual health bars and combo systems, combat is governed by a unique temperature and purpose mechanic. Each encounter forces you to balance aggression and caution: fighting builds heat, and overheating leaves you vulnerable to a single killing blow. Conversely, playing too defensively drains your energy and makes you equally fragile. Every hit, parry, and counterattack affects this delicate equilibrium, creating a sense of constant tension where one mistake can undo minutes of progress. The system encourages careful observation and rhythm rather than button-mashing, transforming each encounter into a psychological duel between risk and restraint. In theory, it’s a brilliant subversion of genre norms—rewarding mastery and punishing recklessness—but in practice, its difficulty and lack of clear feedback can make it punishing and at times frustratingly opaque. Combat also suffers from pacing and clarity issues. The game’s animation, though stylish, sacrifices fluidity for sharp, deliberate movements that sometimes make it difficult to read enemy patterns or react in time. The deliberate pacing can feel sluggish, and the impact of hits lacks consistency, dulling the visceral satisfaction that should come with well-timed attacks. The color-coded enemy system—where different foes react to attacks based on their hue—adds variety but also introduces confusion when multiple enemies overlap onscreen. As a result, some encounters feel chaotic rather than strategic. Yet despite these mechanical shortcomings, there are moments when the system’s brilliance shines through. When everything clicks—the right counter, the perfect parry, the seamless transition between heated and drained states—the combat feels exhilarating, almost hypnotic in its rhythm. The narrative carries similar ambition but struggles under its own weight. Aeon Must Die presents a story of cosmic rebellion, moral corruption, and inner conflict, where the boundaries between hero and villain blur. The dynamic between Aeon, the vengeful god seeking domination, and his mortal host, fighting for autonomy, is conceptually rich. It explores questions of control, identity, and the corruptive nature of power. However, the storytelling is often fragmented and overly cryptic, relying on abstract exposition and stylized monologues that obscure rather than illuminate the plot. Many scenes unfold through static cutscenes that, while visually striking, fail to build emotional resonance. The world-building hints at grandeur—a vast galactic empire filled with fallen knights and fractured allegiances—but it rarely provides the context needed to ground its drama. What could have been an engaging space opera instead feels like an enigmatic sequence of metaphors and conflicts that never fully coalesce into a satisfying whole. Progression in Aeon Must Die adds another layer of complexity through its “Purpose” system, which effectively acts as both a life meter and a narrative currency. Every time you die, your Purpose transfers to your killer, and you must reclaim it to continue. Losing all of it changes the direction of the story, branching into darker consequences that reflect your failures. It’s an intriguing mechanic that ties narrative and gameplay together, reinforcing the game’s themes of control and consequence. Yet its implementation can feel punishing, as repeated deaths often lead to tedious retries and long stretches of repeated dialogue or combat. The game’s checkpoint system is inconsistent, and the repetition can make the difficulty feel less like a test of skill and more like a test of patience. Despite its flaws, Aeon Must Die possesses an undeniable creative spark. It dares to be different, presenting a vision of the beat ’em up that is as much about atmosphere and philosophy as it is about mechanics. It is not a game that caters to comfort or accessibility—it demands focus, resilience, and a willingness to embrace its eccentricities. For some players, this uncompromising design will feel alienating, but for others, it offers a uniquely challenging and thought-provoking experience. The game’s soundtrack, visuals, and underlying concepts leave a strong impression long after the credits roll, even if the moment-to-moment gameplay doesn’t always reach the same heights. Ultimately, Aeon Must Die is a paradoxical creation: deeply flawed, yet boldly original; frustrating to play, yet impossible to ignore. It is a game that values artistic expression over mechanical polish, and in doing so, achieves moments of brilliance amid its missteps. While it may not satisfy those looking for traditional fluid combat or cohesive storytelling, it stands as an example of how far artistic ambition can push the limits of genre conventions. Aeon Must Die is not a comfortable experience—it’s an assault of color, sound, and intensity—but in its most successful moments, it becomes something rare: a chaotic, beautiful, and unforgettable vision of vengeance rendered in motion. Rating: 5/10
