For all that Ace Combat 7 is a massive leap forward in fidelity, scale and customisation for the franchise, the game ultimately fails to leave a lasting impression. The aircraft rendering, weapon effects and the landscape detailing are second to none. The particle effects and trails of projectiles allow for dogfights to feel engaging and evolving. Where the game ultimately falls short is its setting and storytelling which, even for a gameplay-centric game focused on flight combat, detracts from the overall experience. The game is, as with previous entries, set in a fiction earth-like continent. Despite its crisp fidelity and presentation, the fact the setting is fictional feels under utilised and the mission arenas and set-pieces feel far too restrained in the name of 'realism' to offer any real wow-factor outwith a few missions that encompass lightning storm navigation. Though the core of the game is air combat dogfighting, and it cannot be faulted for its feel in this regard, the missions can lack variety and any real 'larger than life' threat. Missions generally advance by throwing more opposing fighters at you, as the game does not wish to break its earth-adjacent realism by offering anything more fantastical or ridiculous. The final mission shows a glimpse of something more unconventional to challenge the player but is too short-lived to leave a lasting impression. The story is perhaps the biggest let-down in the game. Character motivations are either poorly explained or just outright unbelievable. The game hints at a larger sub-plot unfolding and provides, what feels like, small narrative clues throughout the campaign which ultimately are never explored, or were simply there by accident, fooling the player in to questioning a narrative depth that isn't actually there. No cutscenes were skipped in the playthrough, but the early game may leave new players confused about the role of the player in the wider narrative, who the warring factions are, and why. Ace Combat stands alone as the de facto air combat game in the industry, but the franchise's most successful entry to date still feels creatively constrained and the hope is that Ace Combat 8 will delivery a more satisfying narrative punch to accompany what is, in terms of gameplay, an unmatched air combat experience.

dcs if it was anime quite cool if u ask me

What sort of air combat game doesn't support flight sticks?? Extremely frustrating game that is "everything but air combat".
The first ever AC game I've played, but it's certainly left an impression. It's got the trademark Bandai Namco cryptic overtly philosophical storyline, combined with smooth graphics and really fun gameplay. Definitely a must have if you have an interest in air combat, but don't want to play anything too simulator-like. Buy it on sale if you can! Flight mechanics are a step above Battlefield, and three steps below Nuclear Option.
뽕맛 확실하고 캐주얼하게 즐기기 좋은 게임
esperando pelo 8 agora que jogo bom
你这些狗日的关卡设计谁想的,打个空战各种低空舔地任务,各种高度限制峡谷潜行任务,还有什么低空钻云层躲避,然后云遮挡视野让你一下撞死!!!你做的NM空战呢,还不如僚机计划
