About

Crafted with passion by the dream team that redefined side-scrolling beat 'em ups, Absolum mixes top-of-the-class combat action with modern roguelite elements, bringing all the vibes of the fantasy arcade hits of the past into an immersive adventure set in the original world of Talamh.

Talamh has been shattered by a magical cataclysm caused by ambitious wizards, leaving magic mistrusted by the common folk. Sun King Azra took advantage of this panic, enslaving wizards through his Crimson Order and placing loyal princes to rule over the conquered realms.
As Azra’s forces claim more and more lands, the high enchantress Uchawi and a small group of rebels rise from the shadows, wielding forbidden magic to challenge his oppressive regime and defy his absolute magic power.

Meet the outcast heroes of Talamh, each with their unique fighting style.
From the shadows of Yeldrim, Galandra emerges as an unstoppable force of nature. Her colossal sword strikes with deadly precision, combined with chilling, destructive necromantic powers. Her calm demeanor is a thin veil, barely concealing the furious anger brewing inside her.
Karl is the last free dwarf of Talamh. Armed with an ancestral blunderbuss and his bare fists, he’s a master of close-range brawls and explosive tactics. What he lacks in reach at mid-range, he makes up for with raw strength and quick thinking, making him a stalwart ally in the revolt against Azra's oppression.
During their ordeals, two mysterious heroes will join them on a quest to overthrow the Sun King: Brome, a wizard prodigy on a mission to preserve the future generations of his people, and the enigmatic Cider, a nimble skirmisher in search of answers among the scattered fragments of their own soul.

Absolum combines Dotemu and Guard Crush’s mastery in beat ‘em up gameplay with Supamonks' best-in-class art and animation. With its fast-paced action and endless replayability, Absolum will challenge you with multiple paths to explore and unpredictable encounters for a new experience each time you play.

Take down Azra’s elite guard with a mix of rapid combo chains and spellcasting powers, unleashing moves that feel as raw as they are strategic. Use magical counters and rare items to turn the tide in your favor and experience a combat system that demands skill and timing, pushing you to craft new strategies at every run to wreak havoc among the enemy ranks.

Lead the uprising against Azra's regime as a lone hero, or team up with a friend on your couch or online. Combine your elemental powers and synchronize your attacks into incredible chained combos!
The world of Talamh is an intricate tapestry brimming with secrets, stories, and betrayals. From the majestic mines of Grandery to the lush forests of Jaroba, every step of your odyssey will be accompanied by a magnificent soundtrack by composer Gareth Coker (Ori, Halo Infinite, Prince of Persia), with collaborations from Yuka Kitamura (Dark Souls, Elden Ring), Mick Gordon (Doom Eternal, Atomic Heart), and more!

As someone who had started to feel that this genre was getting old and had stopped enjoying it as much as I used to, I was genuinely surprised by how much fun I had with this game. I ended up spending around 30–40 hours with it and came away very satisfied. The game does its best to make the genre as engaging and playable as possible, but some repetition is still inevitable. Because of the nature of the genre, there are moments when the gameplay loop can start to feel repetitive and a little tedious. A successful run usually takes around an hour, and completing two successful runs is enough to experience the main story to its conclusion. The online mode is also surprisingly fun and can even serve as an easier alternative for players who struggle with the game, depending on the situation. The gameplay mechanics are enjoyable, and the visual style is easily one of the game's strongest aspects. Unfortunately, my biggest problem with Absolum is its story. Without going too deeply into spoilers, I had a hard time understanding the game's portrayal of the conflict. We are presented with a people who have become completely dependent on magic, while the greed of the mages and the Root Sisters we serve ultimately leads to a catastrophe that nearly destroys an entire continent. As a result, our main antagonist, who is connected to the Root Sisters, essentially bans and imprisons magic and those who practice it. Despite being known as Azra the Conqueror, the other kingdoms willingly serve him because of the problems caused by the mages. So while I can't definitively say who is worse—Azra or the side we play on—I certainly don't think our side is as innocent as the game sometimes tries to portray it. I think the story could have benefited greatly from a little more depth and attention to this moral conflict. There were also several characters I really liked, as well as a few that genuinely got on my nerves, but overall they added personality to the journey. Despite its shortcomings, I ultimately walked away from Absolum having had a great time. If you're like me and normally avoid beat 'em ups because you don't think the genre is for you, I strongly recommend giving this one a chance. You might be surprised by how much you enjoy it.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

-Muchas misiones secundarias a realizar.
Absolum absolutely surprised me in the best way possible. The combat feels smooth and satisfying, with enough depth to stay engaging while still being easy to jump into. Every run feels rewarding thanks to the variety in builds, upgrades and playstyles. The art direction and atmosphere stand out immediately, there’s a lot of personality in both the world and the character design. Progression feels meaningful and the game does a good job encouraging “just one more run”. What I enjoyed most is that it feels polished and confident in what it wants to be. Whether you're here for the action, experimentation or simply discovering new combinations, there’s a lot to enjoy. Definitely recommended if you enjoy action roguelites with strong presentation and satisfying gameplay.
It's fine I suppose, the story is mildly interesting and there's some good personalities in the characters but it just kinda feels stripped down compared to some other beatemups I've played. The most fun I've had in this game is when I took all the optional bosses and finally managed to get a decent variety of moves but like it still wasn't all that much fun until like 2/3 through the run. Worth playing even if it's not quite my vibe.
