Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

I am somewhat surprised by the negative reception of this game. I think the Shieldwall mod really carries the game to the level it deserves, but even the vanilla is immersive and re-playable. The visual art design is fantastic. Like with any modern total war, there are many aspects that seem to have been overlooked and this is incredible frustrating and disappointing, but that is why we have mod communities, is it not? Unfortunately the mod community for ToB seems to have faded away before their work was finished. Nonetheless, the original (unfinished) Shieldwall mod and Manic's faction packs are worth exploring. I don't rate the Radios mod because it tries too hard to re-design the game mechanics with little care for Creative Assembly's vision for this game i.e. unit size progression over turns, replicating a realistic scenario of mustering arms over time. I think Creative's vision for this game was well realised and they have made something both beautiful and entertaining. On a final note, Anglo-Saxon history is extremely brutal and unforgiving. 95% warlords suffered premature deaths on the battlefield for hundreds of years before kingdoms began to unite into coherent forces, only to be decimated by the Normans in 1066. Playing this game, I really got a feel for that brutality and unforgiving political landscape. And that slow approach toward the Norman invasion... A fantastic game that deserves more praise.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 19: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

its fun, but can be a pain in the rear at times
I have less hours on this game than any of the other Total War titles but enjoyed each and every hour of said time. This game is actually well made, especially when contrasted to games such as Three Kingdoms from the same franchise.
One of the better total war games its truly fun and I sure you will enjoy playing if you get it.
Half arsed goy slop
I agree to most of the positives here. Haven't played A TON of it (as of now just a bit over 70 hours) but I don't feel it deserves the hate it gets. ESPECIALLY if you like the era it plays in. Factions feel interesting and diverse, the unit roster is good, I loved the terrain, felt the AI was smarter in many placed in comparison to the earlier titles (... yeah a bit dumber in other places) but overall: a solid early medieval total war game. :) I like it a lot.
very absorbing game, easy to lose yourself for hours.
