Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.14/day in the week to Sep 2 → 1.86/day in the week after.

Reviews

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 19: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 16 → 1.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

shieldwall reforged makes this what it should have been... but ca did a decent job
Suppose it has historical value and such, but its not particularly play able. You get to fight an army of 4 units at turn 1, but usually takes multiple turns to get more units and moving them to the next fight. the buildings feel unrewarding, and useless, since you get plenty of coin but need to build food resource. slow and sluggish campaing, and the battles arent particularly fun either. the special clan/family management of governors and estates is also lame. 1/5 for a Total war game.
Nothing to do and weird UI. Just feels like a mod for Atillla. Also each turn i can only move my army 2 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ METERS. Good concept, horrible execution
After starting off with Rome II and working my way through Empire, Napoleon, Attila, and Shogun 2, now this, I can say this is probably my least favorite. It sucks because I really wanted to play this a lot, especially since it’s largely about my ancestry. There’s simply not much content, units, or just things going on in general. I love the campaign and playing as the Anglo-Saxons, but beyond that, it was boring as ♥♥♥♥, repetitive, and just seems like it could’ve been DLC for Attila. I love the time frame, love the art style and hubs, and love the idea. I hate the execution. 5/10.
I'm a big fan of this series and I really tried to like ToB but I couldn't. + It is a fun era of history and who doesn't like a viking shield wall + I like that they experimented with various kingdom management and battle features because I think it translated well into future titles. - The faction mechanics were insipid and difficult to understand. - The kingdom management took the worst from Atilla and Rome 2 and had none of the best from 3K. - Some people really like the battles in this game but they feel weird to me. I think of it like an unsuccessful prototype for TW: Troy's style. - The factions, units, and technology all take too long to develop, and the food system makes it so you can hardly field any armies at first. So most campaigns I just felt stressed the whole time, knowing I couldn't defend myself, especially since many holdings have no garrison in themselves.
