Experience the dramatic conflict of samurai culture and modern weaponry between the Imperial throne and the last Shogunate in 19th century Japan.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A great expansion to the base Shogun Total War 2 game that portrays the Bakumatsu period where modern weapons are introduced into a closed off Japan and the country split between those that supports the Shogun and those that supports the Emperor. The unique period that it portrays allows for gun lines and yari samurais to crash in crazy battles. Where politics are navigated with your allied AIs rather than be surrounded on all sides like the other games. Unless you create a republic, then you get stomp from all sides. Great game. Great for people who are curious about this era in history as well.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 8: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

This is my favorite part of Shogun 2 because I get to use gun units just like in Empire, except that the co-op campaign works fully here in Shogun.
No idea why this is mixed, but great time period and setting and such a great expansion. They do ♥♥♥♥ on Sakamoto Ryoma though which is harsh, poor dude got assassinated 3 times (3rd was Yakuza Ishin)
솔직히 쇼군2 본편보다 더 많이했음 칼쓰는 야만인들은 암스트롱포로 찢어죽여야함 미개한년들
I never experienced anything bad with this DLC, and am surprised at it's mixed reviews. It was a very welcome addition to this cornerstone of the franchise! I do agree 30,- is a bit steep. Still worth more then the discount price of 7,- though. I'd price it at 15,- - 20,- € / $ myself. Wouldn't replay it like I played every faction of the main game, but definitely worth at very least 2 playthroughs, 1 for each major side.
really good line battles. stand alone. seemingly better AI that gives more of a challenge.
By far and large, the glitchiest POS I have ever played. Units randomly just get stuck, refuse to fire, sail around in circles and just generally refuse to respond periodically. Modern units can get utterly annihilated by rudimentary spear levy for the first half of the game which kind of defeats the purpose of a DLC focused on....modernization. The general flow of technology and AI responses to things generally make zero sense. It feels like this was thrown together at the last minute because, why not.
One of the best DLCs and SAGAs in Total War
