Yu-Gi-Oh! EARLY DAYS COLLECTION

Positives: Some of the most mindless, soul-sucking, grindy videogames ever produced. Misery from concentrate. Terrible design which only exists to waste your time. Negatives: They added features to reduce the grindy elements, which defeats the purpose in even playing these awful titles in the first place.

If you hate the modern game than this is the game for you. i love the 02 - 05 time period of the game. you can also add in all your cards by inputting the code in the bottom left corner of the card.

[h1] Absolutely terrible value. Most games are incremental upgrades (arguably downgrades) over others. [/h1] 40€ would've already been an incredibly tough sell for games that are, by and large, very similar to one another. At 60€, it borders on hilariously scammy, despite the effort of translating such old games and their instruction manuals. The onboard emulators don't even have a fast-forward option, which is baffling when considering the speed of play of these older games. The filters are pretty average as well, and you have only one save state that you cannot preview. There is rewind and rebinds, in the rebind options there is a "fast forward" button, but it's set with the "Confirm" button to act as a "hold the button" for the gameplay to go faster, probably for games like 2004 & DM 1 to go faster without muting or messing up the audio. When taking the overall collection, it's nice there are side-games like Capsule Monsters or Dungeon Dice Monsters, or even Destiny Board Traveler (even if it really sucks), but the large majority of the collection is composed of the early Japanese Duel Monsters games accompanied with two side-games using different rules and that were RPGs (Sacred Cards/Reshef of Destruction). For comparison: 75% of this collection would be like compiling 8 FIFA games together, with a dash of FIFA Street on the side and two NBA games because why not. The presence of games with different rules doesn't bother me at all. The problem comes with how most of them require the player to progress: Always start with a terrible deck => Duel each character 5 times => Try as best you can to build a deck from the anemic rewards you get by defeating each duelist => Proceed to the next biome => repeat. I had already played Dark Duel Stories & Worldwide Edition on cart, and the idea of repeating those steps for all these other games which may as well be 80% the identical is making me nauseous. I'm especially terrified about starting 2004 & 2005, which I heard horror stories about. Starting with the very first Duel Monsters on Game Boy with its painfully limited mechanics was such a chore, all four duellists of the 1st biome can't do anything against your starting deck, then on the 2nd biome it's a war of attrition even with Rex Raptor and Insector Haga consistently having monsters with 700 more ATK on average. All these games enforce grinding for progression, and when all these games move so slow, with the shortest duels averaging several minutes as opposed to a regular turn based RPG's 10-20 seconds, and also have no story of their own (aside from the actual RPGs), they start to drag and blend into each other. This is all compounded by one upsetting fact: [b]Unlike the Pokémon TCG, Yu-Gi-Oh always had a terrible foundation for a card game and started with disfunctional rules[/b], and as for the battle simulators specifically, it didn't start getting actually good until Nightmare Troubadour... which is absent. The best battle simulator here is I think Worldwide Edition (2003), and it is still marred by some baffling AI decisions like using Torrential Tribute against itself when it has the advantage. Frankly, the large majority of this collection would be bonus games at best in other offerings, like the Game Gear Sonic games in Sonic collections ever since the GameCube days. Sonic Gems Collection was considered middling back in the day, yet it had an Arcade game, a Saturn game, and Mega CD game as its main features. If YGO Early Days had matched that, it would've had Forbidden Memories, Duellists of The Rose, Capsule Monsters Coliseum, and Falsebound Kingdom, coupled with Sacred Cards/Reshef of Destruction and a couple of the battle simulators, which would've made the collection far more interesting to get (even if they're not all necessarily good). With this, Konami is failing 2005 Sega standards.

Même à 17€ je regrette l'achat tellement la plupart des jeux sont éclatés. C'est lent, c'est pas ergonomique, c'est moche... Cette collection n'apporte absolument rien de plus qu'un émulateur.

Never really sure why all of these classic collections include awful games that nobody wants to play.

This is a collection of games that almost no one played, combined with Japanese as the only language for atleast 1 of the games. Some of them you must hold the fast forward button in order to play. As a whole this has alot of work. Needed before its stable and playable.

Una colección bastante generosa juegos de antaño. Algunos son buenos, algunos son malos, luego está Reshef of Destrucción que es fácilmente el peor de todo Yu-Gi-Oh!. Como puntos positivos está el hecho de que puedes desbloquear todas las cartas desde el menú de elección del juego u otras ventajas que hacen que los juegos se sientan menos injustos o que le dan un lavado de cara a juegos que han envejecido terriblemente mal. Sería bueno que agregaran la opción de poder quitar el sonido ya que muchas veces la música es repetitiva, así podemos dejar en segundo plano algo que escuchar mientras jugamos. Adenas de poder acelerar el juego, pues muchos juegos son lentos.
