Yet Another Zombie Defense — Review Rating: 8/10 I first played Yet Another Zombie Defense back in college, around October 8, 2015, and looking back, it was one of those simple games that was way more fun than it had any right to be. By today’s standards, the game is pretty basic. The graphics are simple, the premise is straightforward, and the gameplay loop is repetitive: survive waves of zombies, earn money, buy weapons and defenses, and try to last as long as possible. But back then, that simplicity was exactly what made it work. What I remember most was how quickly a casual session could turn into, “Okay, just one more wave.” You'd start by putting up a few defenses and grabbing a decent weapon, feeling pretty confident. Then the zombies would start coming faster and from every direction, and suddenly you were scrambling to repair barricades and find somewhere to survive. Playing it in college also made the experience more memorable. It was the kind of game you could jump into without needing to spend hours learning complicated systems. Whether I had a few minutes to kill or wanted to see how long I could survive, it was easy to pick up and play. It definitely wasn't a groundbreaking zombie game, but it didn't need to be. In 2015, it delivered exactly what I wanted from a small survival game: fast action, escalating difficulty, simple strategy, and plenty of chaotic moments. Would I recommend it today? Mostly for the nostalgia. It hasn't aged perfectly, but if you played it around the same time I did, there's something satisfying about going back and remembering how entertaining this little zombie defense game could be. For me, Yet Another Zombie Defense is less about technical quality and more about the memories attached to it. And honestly, that's why I'm giving it an 8/10.
