Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

X4 is an ambitious game mixing elements of grand strategy / empire building / logistics games, RTS combat, space shooter flight sims dogfights, and first person RPGs. This ambition comes with a cost, as it's probably not the best example of a game featuring any of those individual elements. However, it is probably the best example of trying to merge those kind of elements into an "everything" space game. If you're looking for something that digs deeper than No Man's Sky, doesn't require installing 1000 third party tools like Elite Dangerous (and with considerably less predatory monetization), or want an actual functioning game unlike Star Citizen, then give X4 a try.
If you like space games like Stellaris and Star Citizen then you will like this one , its like 2 good games rolled together.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

X4: Foundations is a great empire-building game where you start with a small ship and can end up as the fleet commander of dozens of destroyers and carriers, claiming sectors as your own. Alternatively, you can be the owner of numerous factories and shipyards, forming the backbone of the galactic economy. Or you can be a simple nomad with a squad of ships traveling through the galaxy helping people, or maybe even become a pirate to board and commandeer vessels. It is very much a sandbox experience, so it's entirely up to you to decide what to focus on. The graphics and ship designs look great, and the music is quite nice too. I especially like the soundtrack from Kingdom's End (though why is it not Queendom's End?). The game has incredible depth and complexity, mainly because of the economic simulation and production chains, from mining raw materials to crafting intermediate products, ultimately ending with assembling ships and building stations. Combat is fluid and enjoyable, although the AI is still a bit unreliable. Despite the latest updates promising significant improvements, and there definitely is a noticeable difference, my AI pilots still don't exactly inspire trust. The main questlines have reasonable writing, and the factions aren't homogenous, they have their own goals, motives, and enemies. Combined with the threat of the rebellious machines, the Xenon, this makes the galaxy dynamic rather than static, creating opportunities for the player to shape it. My only qualms are the aforementioned AI and the UI, which is still not very intuitive. However, I do admit it's hard to balance complexity with a simple interface. Overall, it is a great game. I highly recommend grabbing the three DLCs that make the game feel more feature-complete: Split Vendetta for the Split race, Cradle of Humanity for the Terrans, and Kingdom's End for the Boron. That said, the base game itself provides plenty of fun, so don't feel pressured to buy everything at once.
A worthy successor to X3. In my top 3 of all games. The ultimate sandbox, and mods make it even better plus allow you to tune it to your liking. The music is majestic on top of it. A pleasure to build and manage a galactic empire. Get it with the expansions (except timeliones) the value is stellar.
The boron are just silly little guys
