About

Since 1995, X-Plane has been at the forefront of flight simulation, continually pushing the boundaries of realism and immersion. X-Plane 12 carries this legacy forward, offering a state-of-the-art simulator that combines real-world physics, unprecedented systems depth, and a true-to-life simulation of the world. Whether you're an aspiring pilot, an aviation enthusiast, or simply seeking an unmatched flying experience, X-Plane 12 is the go-to platform for any aviation fan.

X-Plane 12 takes immersion to new heights with its dramatically improved volumetric clouds and real live weather system. The new volumetric clouds create stunning, dynamic skies that evolve with the weather. Paired with our revamped live weather feature, which updates conditions in real-time based on global meteorological data, every flight feels truly authentic.

X-Plane 12 introduces a new lighting model that transforms the visual experience. With photometric lighting, every surface is rendered with real light intensities, capturing the subtleties of natural light across different times of day and weather conditions. The addition of bloom effects further enhances realism, creating stunning visuals and making every moment feel more vibrant and authentic.

X-Plane 12 redefines environmental realism with its enhanced scenery features. The world comes to life with new 3D trees that sway in the wind, realistic 3D water that reacts naturally to weather, and updated autogen that brings cities and landscapes to vivid detail. Airports are more immersive than ever with fresh textures, moving boats, and over 20,000 3D airports sourced from the X-Plane Gateway, each with unique, community-driven enhancements. Whether flying low over dense forests or landing at a bustling airport, X-Plane 12's scenery creates an unparalleled sense of place and realism.

Even with good Hardware and high settings the game looks awful. And in VR , which i play mostly, the framerate is abysmal, even with tuned down graphics, which look even more horrible again. Yes the flight dynamics are better than Msfs. But if you compare VR , MSFS is miles ahead, it is not even close. If you don't use VR, you don't care about graphics and prefer "realistic" flight dynamics, it's good For everyone else, don't buy it.
Been with xplane since xplane 10 and its hands down the best flight sim on the market. I hold a variety of licenses in real life and this is my recommendation to practice real life procedures. Even if you want to have fun and mess around, this lets you do it and simulate it close to the real thing. Ive tired MSFS and i prefer this over it. + it has mouse yoke unlike MSFS

I really love X Plane 12 its the best flight Sim out there I love the graphics plus I love that it has realistic effects. I use this a lot for simulation training since I am working towards my pilots license.
For someone who does not spend their days thinking about flight model realism or training for an actual pilot license in a physical cockpit simulator, X-Plane 12 will feel like nothing but a slight graphics update from X-Plane 11, which in turn is best understood as a realism update to Microsoft Flight Simulator X (2006). The amount of jank that goes into just getting your controls, graphics and UX set up in X-Plane simly, not to mention strange bugs here and there, are not worth it for non-serious simmers. The graphics performance is also not up to par with modern-day expectations. This is not to say I don't appreciate the effort that Laminar puts into the flight model realism and that they cater to a market niche that is completely unserved by Microsoft/Asobo. It's just that I feel they tried to bite a little more than they could chew, making X-Plane more of a framework for building your own garage simulator than an off-the-shelf solution for casual simmers.
A iluminação, reflexos, clima e atmosfera durante amanhecer, pôr do sol e voos noturnos criam cenários absurdamente bonitos e imersivos.
Play CS2 with stupid teamates, stress levels go up the roof, I did a short 6 hour flight, me landed perfectly, stress levels goes down, me live longer. In short, X-Plane good
XP12 is a great simulator with a solid variety of default airliners and ga aircraft. There’s also a ton of good freeware scenery and tools available online. The xplane community is really talented and makes the experience even better.
I had to adress since this wasn't adressed till now. XPlane 12 is overall a great simulator. I have zero regrets with getting it. There are just a couple of issues that would be a cherry on top if they get fixed. One is regarding FSR. When you try the FSR upscaling feature depending on the settings you use, you gain around 5-10 fps. However there is a sacrifice, it causes the cockpit texts to be blurred out. I wish that since as Mac users we have our own metal renderer already in the game it would be great to recieve MetalFX upscaling. And finally despite the fact that we are in 2026, the sim is mostly utilizing only a single cpu core. Honestly I dont think that it would hurt apple silicon users a lot due to the high single core clock speeds, but I can assure you that it still does from my experience. I know that they are working on it but with the way that the addon developers upping their game I think to not to suffer it would be great to have multithreading. Apart from these pretty cool sim.
