Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 9.29/day in the week to Aug 10 → 38.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Battle swarms of hundreds of zombies
The Swarm Engine™ seamlessly renders hordes of zombies in incredible firefights. Advanced gore systems offer gruesomely satisfying action. In-game Zombie Hordes behave like real crowds, getting stuck in narrow corridors and climbing on top of each other to reach players on higher levels. Hordes become increasingly more difficult to defeat and behave like single entity bosses as players progress through the game.

Fun for a few hours, but gets repetitive very fast. World War Z is definitely an entertaining game at first. Watching massive swarms of hundreds of zombies climb over each other and running them down with heavy weapons gives a great initial rush. It’s a solid arcade co-op shooter to turn your brain off and play. However, the biggest issue is that it gets incredibly boring after a short while. The gameplay loop is exactly the same from start to finish. You go to an area, press a button, setup defenses, hold out against a zombie wave, and move on. There is very little variety in terms of objective design, and the excitement wears off quickly once you realize you are just doing the same exact thing over and over again. It's a fun distraction, especially with friends, but it lacks the depth or variety to keep you hooked for the long run. 6/10 — Fun for a bit, but it quickly becomes a repetitive grind.
Can't recommend this
There's hardly anything worthwhile that this game offers and it expects you to grind quite a bit to get access to a level of variety in it's gameplay that I would consider even half decent for a game like this. Perhaps it was more impressive at the time of it's release but nowadays it's very disappointing in most ways. The one thing this game has going for it, are the massive hordes but that alone is not enough for me to recommend this game to anyone since even those get old pretty quick and the game lacks in every other department.
Gunplay
The gunplay is pretty weak, generic and unimmersive, a lot of guns feel the same and there's barely any customization available and the little there is, is very unimpressive and hardly changes how you play the game. There were a few guns I genuinely found satisfying to use though, however, using only a handful of guns out of the entire roster gets boring after a while. There are no loadouts either, which was definitely a big mistake. The game forces you to use equipment you find randomized in the world and you may or may not find something you actually enjoy, or may find something only at the end of a level. They should have allowed the players to make their own loadouts, so they can freely experiment and use equipment they enjoy, while still offering the randomized equipment found in the world.
Classes
Classes offer mostly pretty insignificant bonuses with the exception of a few stronger boons (especially when paired with the right guns/equipment) like ammo replenishment on headshots or starting with certain equipment. Some perks did not seem to work correctly, mainly ones that aught to automatically revive you in specific context. This game could have benefited greatly from a class system like the ones we see in many other games (Such as Space Marine 2), where each class has a distinct role with unique weapons, equipment, abilities and thus strengths/weaknesses to be compensated for by the rest. They should not have chained themselves to the WWZ IP either, it only hinders the creative freedom with a game like this. I don't see much value in there being a WWZ specific game like this either since there are no real characters nor a well thought-out plot to enrich the world of WWZ.
Missions
The missions in this game are very basic and vary little from one another, usually consisting of short 'find & retrieve', 'protect for X amount of time', 'escort to' and 'kill all enemies' types of tasks which are then connected with linear pathways filled with smaller hordes and special infected.
Enemy Variety
There's very little enemy variety and what there is, is hardly meaningful. You got your disablers, suicide bombers, tanks, screamers and ranged zombies but you deal with all of them almost the exact same ways, meaning that they aren't very special at the end of the day when all they do is take priority over the regular hordes due to being slightly more dangerous. It would've been interesting if they had uinique AIs that forced the players to employ different tactics in order to deal with them easily rather than running straight to you and getting shot like all the others. The only ones you can/have to deal with differently are screamers and the riot gear chargers. The former which you might have to go out of your way to get a clear line-of-sight due to them usually spawning behind solid cover. The latter having a weakspot in the back allowing for significantly faster extermination.
Story and Characters
Can't say much in this front since I tuned out very early on. A lot of it seemed pretty nonsensical and contrived, so I wouldn't buy the game in the hopes of getting anything good. The characters didn't stick out any more than the story did, some of them have pretty cool designs yet something I find pretty unfitting for WWZ, since the movie tried to be fairly serious from what I remember but my memory might be failing me in that regard.
Conclusion
If you're a fan of horde shooters, focus on other games from said genre before this and if you're determined to play this, get it from a heaviy sale. I consider this to be one of the worse games of it's kind and it seems to misunderstand a lot of the elements that made other horde shooters great, as well as including features just for the sake of having them. From my experience there is a very basic level of enjoyment/satisfaction to be had with mowing down the massive hordes but all the points of frustration weigh too heavily on the experience for it to be considered good or for it to remain entertaining for longer than a single playthrough, if even that.
