- World’s End Club

The platformer / visual novel hybrid concept looks cool on paper, but unfortunately... the execution is not it. Constant interruptions, absolutely zero flow, and very questionable physics and things that apparently kill you overall. Characters have super cute designs and have very defined personalities, I personally feel like twelve of them is too much though. Due to the game being rather short, having so many playable characters doesn't give them enough time for their abilities to shine. Story-wise, it takes a long while to get interesting, but when it does, you're greeted with a very decent story full of plot twists and, by far, not what I was expecting. If you play this, do it for the story. It's what makes this game worth it: Uchikoshi doing what he knows best, despite not reaching the heights of Zero Escape or AI.
Facilmente o pior jogo do Kodaka.
World's End Club is a story-focused adventure that successfully combines cinematic storytelling, side-scrolling platforming, and light puzzle mechanics into a memorable coming-of-age journey. Developed by IzanagiGames, Too Kyo Games, Grounding Inc., and ESQUADRA, inc., and published by IzanagiGames, the game stands out thanks to the involvement of creators known for crafting acclaimed narrative-driven titles. Although its opening suggests a grim survival experience filled with deadly stakes, the adventure soon transforms into something much more heartfelt, emphasizing friendship, perseverance, and the emotional bonds between its young cast. Rather than relying entirely on shocking twists, the game gradually reveals a larger mystery while allowing its characters to grow naturally throughout their extraordinary journey. The story follows twelve elementary school students who belong to the eccentric Go-Getters Club. During what should have been a routine class excursion, an unexpected catastrophe leaves them trapped inside an abandoned underwater amusement park. Their awakening is immediately interrupted by a mysterious clown who forces them into a bizarre "Game of Fate," creating an atmosphere filled with suspense and uncertainty. However, this premise serves only as the beginning of a much larger adventure that sends the children across Japan in search of answers. As they travel through ruined cities and unfamiliar landscapes, they uncover hidden truths about themselves, their strange new abilities, and the mysterious disaster that changed their world. The unfolding mystery keeps players engaged while balancing dramatic revelations with quieter moments of character development. One of the game's strongest qualities is its cast. Every member of the Go-Getters Club possesses a unique personality, making the group feel lively and believable throughout the adventure. Instead of treating the characters as simple archetypes, the narrative spends considerable time exploring their fears, dreams, and relationships with one another. Their conversations often shift naturally between humorous banter, emotional conflicts, and touching moments of friendship, creating a strong sense of camaraderie that becomes the emotional core of the experience. As the journey progresses and each child discovers a special power, their individual abilities further reinforce both gameplay and storytelling without overshadowing the importance of their personalities. Gameplay revolves around side-scrolling exploration, environmental puzzles, and platforming challenges that gradually become more varied as new character abilities are introduced. The controls remain simple and responsive, making the game accessible even for players who are not experienced with platformers. Puzzle design generally favors logical observation over demanding complexity, allowing the story to remain the primary focus without long interruptions caused by difficult gameplay. While veteran platforming fans may wish for more challenging mechanics, the approachable design fits the game's narrative-driven philosophy and keeps the pacing comfortable from beginning to end. Visually, World's End Club presents a colorful and expressive art style that contrasts beautifully with its mysterious setting. Character animations convey plenty of personality, while the environments showcase a variety of memorable locations inspired by different regions of Japan. Despite the bright presentation, the game effectively creates tension during key story moments through dramatic camera work, atmospheric lighting, and carefully directed scenes. The soundtrack complements the emotional range of the narrative, shifting seamlessly between playful melodies, suspenseful compositions, and heartfelt themes that strengthen many of the game's most memorable sequences. High-quality voice acting further enhances the personalities of the cast, making conversations feel energetic and emotionally authentic. The narrative continuously introduces new mysteries that encourage players to keep moving forward. Rather than revealing everything at once, the game slowly expands its world while exploring themes of trust, courage, sacrifice, hope, and growing up in the face of unimaginable circumstances. The emotional focus distinguishes it from many other mystery adventures, prioritizing optimism and cooperation instead of constant despair. Some of its later plot developments venture into increasingly imaginative territory, but the emotional foundation established by the characters helps maintain investment even when the story becomes more fantastical. The game is not entirely without flaws. Players expecting the relentless psychological tension associated with the writers' previous works may find the overall tone considerably lighter than anticipated. Some platforming sections become repetitive over extended play sessions, and the puzzles rarely demand advanced problem-solving. Certain narrative twists may also divide opinion, especially among those hoping the opening survival scenario would remain the central focus throughout the adventure. Nevertheless, these creative decisions reflect the developers' intention to deliver a more uplifting and emotionally driven experience rather than another bleak psychological thriller. World's End Club ultimately succeeds because it values its characters above everything else. The combination of engaging storytelling, charming presentation, accessible gameplay, and heartfelt emotional moments creates an experience that remains memorable long after the journey concludes. While it may not offer the most challenging gameplay or the darkest narrative in its genre, it delivers an enjoyable adventure filled with warmth, mystery, and genuine character growth. Players who appreciate story-rich games with memorable casts and an optimistic message will find plenty to enjoy in this distinctive title. Rating: 7/10
I like the story and think the gameplay is cool but there are some things liek the glitches that are annoying i dostill recomend tho
At first i was worried at the length of the game, but after sometimes the worries went away and i started to really enjoy the trip and the characters, then it started punching my gut, stabbing my heart and ran me over with a truck...Man this game is such a rollercoaster of emotions, i really loved it. So yeah if you are in the mood for reading a bittersweet story this game hits all the marks, lovely game
The creators of Danganronpa and Zero Escape give you some kind of 'Japanese Tourism Campaign' in game form. It has a fake-out in the beginning, characters that are one-dimensional clichés, inappropriate jokes... with children, and the most boring human vs. AI story. The only positive thing it has are appealing character designs. It's a relatively easy 100% if you enjoy looking at the model designs and have some free time to screw around and spam the power cut-ins.
The game is a blast, while the gameplay might not be groundbreaking, the pacing is so well done that you won't be bored. The characters are all very lovable and developed. I really don't have much bad to say about the game other than that it's short, so you might want to get it on sale due to it's small length.
