About
World of Warships: Legends—the renowned console naval shooter, now on PC.
In World of Warships: Legends, fast-paced action blends with tactical depth. Victory is earned through strategic play, smart positioning, and coordinated teamwork. As a Captain, you can choose from more than 600 historically inspired warships, including legendary vessels from WWII like Yamato, USS Laffey, USS Texas, and many more.
The pace of battle is yours to control, with four ship types that play very differently. Destroyers rely on speed and stealth, battleships on armor and firepower, and cruisers on versatility, while aircraft carriers influence the fight from above, directing air squadrons to project power anywhere on the map. With hundreds of warships from multiple nations—including the USA, UK, Japan, Germany, Italy, and the USSR—there’s always a ship to match your playstyle.
Lead your fleet with over 150 historical and fictional Commanders. Each one features a unique skill tree, allowing you to create specialized builds that fit your ship and your playstyle. If you want a different look, use Commander guises with unique visuals and voiceovers. Customize your Commanders and find the perfect combination to win.
We release major content updates almost every month to ensure there is always something new to explore. Discover everything from powerful new ships and Commanders to unique game modes, ranging from casual PvE events to intense PvP battles. Take part in special collaborations with iconic franchises such as Star Trek and Azur Lane, bringing themed ships, Commanders, and cosmetic content into the game. Complete mission chains, progress through the battle pass, and experience epic War Tales—there is always fresh content for every Captain to enjoy.
With cross-progression, you can link your console or mobile account to Steam without losing progress. Team up with friends on PC, console, or mobile and dominate the high seas together. Some account linking rules may apply—check the FAQ in the community discussions for details.
Legends is beginner-friendly, but prepare for a journey with true tactical depth. While the basics are easy to learn, the game offers many levels of strategy for those who want to dive deep. If you have questions, our in-game wiki, video tutorials, and community channels provide all the answers you need. Play exactly how you want with full support for keyboard, gamepad, and handheld devices, including Steam Deck.

At first, I wasn’t really interested in the game however, spent just one day playing for about four hours. Some of my friends play it, and having them show me the ropes and some of the in and outs of the playing style. now I’m part of their group and have joined their fleet. This game completely changed my perspective on RPG and MMO play styles. When I saw the PC version, I was impressed by how detailed every aspect of the game is. Now, Console players are receiving the new update as well. If you set clear goals, like completing certain assignments or leveling up a specific ship, the experience becomes even more rewarding. Please, give this game a try—it’s free to play! While there are whales in the game, it doesn’t matter much because you can easily take down high-level players with a good party. Many players, including high-level ones who hold offices, are in the game, but with the right team of friends, you can defeat anyone and dominate your enemies. I wish you the best of luck, and for those still undecided, ask a friend to join you and give it a shot!
There's a lot to love, and some things to hate about this game. I got into this game due to the fact my console friends have been playing it for years, and was excited to have a chance to finally play it with them since I play on PC. I never played the World of Warships PC version, and anyone crying about how this game isn't that game should be ignored. If you like that one more, fine... Go play it, but don't play what is considered a different game and cry about how it's not that. I can't understand the level of bad reviews from people who downloaded this expecting to be what the other version is. The main difference from what I've gathered is submarines. They're in the PC version, but not this one (Legends). After watching some gameplay of what submarines are, THANK GOD I got into this one with my friends and not that... Anyways, let's talk pros/cons of this game specifically: CONS 1. "Seal Clubbing" AKA smurfing of sorts is rampant, and can really frustrate newer players. As a new player, you'll go up against console players who have been at this game for a decade who will have extreme advantages when it comes to commander/inspiration levels. This has a major impact on performance of a ship. 2. The amount of time needed to grind commander levels & invest in ships is actually ridiculous. At my 330+ hours of gameplay, I only have a few commanders at level 16, none of which have maxed "legendary" upgrades. 3. Prices for direct ship purchases are beyond ridiculous. If you're one of the people who give this company money for ships, you need to stop so they make prices reasonable. We're talking $60 up to $100 for a single ship at high tiers. The only investments worthwhile are the premium time & admiralty backing. Anything else and you're being ripped off... Period. PROS 1. Extremely fun to play with friends. Even though you're at most 1/3 of a team (3 of 9 total players in most standard battles), your coordination can have a huge impact on the outcome of the game. 2. Unlike World of Tanks, this game limits within 1 tier, meaning if you're in a tier V ship, you can't face higher than a tier VI ship. I liked this a lot because as a previous World of Tanks player, nothing was worse than being down 2 tiers... 3. Again unlike World of Tanks, you CANNOT lose money by playing, even less so at higher tiers. This game only rewards gameplay and doesn't allow setbacks. Shouldn't have to be a "pro" item, but anyone who plays other Wargaming games knows that they're punishing for no reason on certain things. You should never lose currency for playing a match lol. 4. Lots of ships to choose from -- The "Tech Tree" ships that you actually grind (non-premium) have many nations to pick from, and a lot of those nations will have 5+ lines to pick and level all the way to tier VIII (Max tier for tech tree ships). 5. Admiralty Backing (AKA battle passes) is a worthwhile investment. I feel there's a lot of value from this ~$10 pass, which isn't even always the same duration. Some can be like 4 weeks, others will go up to 6 depending on the tier of ship rewarded at the end. PRO TIPS 1. Don't rage out early on due to the smurfs - This game actually encourages players to use lower tier ships to complete Bureau projects, try new lines of ships, and play premium ships at any tier. It is to be expected that you will come across this a lot early on, and is just part of the game. 2. If you're playing via Steam AND have an Xbox, you can access something called the "Bonus Subscription - World of Warships: Legends" which gives you 30 days of premium AND enough doubloons (gold) to buy the Admiralty Backing (battle pass). You have to sign in on your Xbox after purchasing via the Microsoft store and have your Steam account linked with your Xbox account to get this. For some reason, Steam doesn't let you purchase this directly (cuz reasons???), and gives you basically a 50% discount. 30 days of premium & the admiralty backing otherwise are $10 each! TL;DR for those with A.D.D. -- Early game is rough, you get beat up by seal clubbers! Stick it out and play with friends because this game gets incredibly fun once you get settled.
