About
Description: "World Alone" is a single-player "Backrooms" experience focused on dreamlike liminal pools. The game features a narrative told through cinematic sequences and immersive environments. Feel the true essence of solitude in "World Alone"...
Story: You are a man named [REDACTED], age [REDACTED]. One day, in your bathroom, you discover a supernaturally perfect tunnel that leads to another bathroom, one that never existed there before. Curious, you decide to explore and record the place. But before you realize it, you're trapped. The tunnel is now blocked by debris and concrete, and the door in this mysterious bathroom is locked.
Desperate and hopeless, you sit in the corner, unsure of what to do… until you hear the sound of a door opening. Could someone else be here? Terrified, yet curious, you decide to search for the door that opened, and whoever opened it.
But there's no one. Only the bathroom door, now open. As you step outside, you're met with what looks like a complex of homes with pools. Your goal now is to find a way out of this place.
Welcome to the "Dreampools"...
Features and Concepts:
Interactions with the environment, such as opening doors, interacting with buttons (switches, levers, etc.).
VHS defines the game's visual style. Inspired by other Backrooms found footages, the visuals have a greenish tint, screen-wide noise, and blurred edges. These imperfections bring a sense of realism. The camera effects are based on both real VHS artifacts and more abstract effects.
Dreampools is the main theme of the game, a vast pool complex that includes houses, bathrooms, megastructures, and more. Explore and record everything you find.

I mean its a Good Game however there are some issues per se the mouse sensitivity is not changeable, but my biggest issue is I beat the game in 10 minutes, then I get hit with a text screen that just says "this will be continued in our next game" like??????? I understand the game is 3 dollars but i feel atleast an hour of playtime should be worth the price of 3 dollars even if its an hour of just nonstop repeating rooms I cant in good faith give this game a thumbs up due to the lack of playability with the time it takes to beat the game Im sorry please developer with your next game I hope it atleast gives an hour of playtime I will be buying the next game when it releases but until I see some changes in play time and hopefully the mouse sensitivity I will not remove my thumbs down sorry. if the next game is a major improvement I will come back and change my review instantly.
always love the more "realistic" backrooms games and this one really took me by surprise. Looks great, atmosphere is on point, my only gripe is some of the ambiance loops can be heard starting and stopping, other than that i highly recommend and looking forward to more.

I think this is a magnificent, albeit very humble, liminal experience. Although the opening is somewhat confusing, from there on the general structure and atmosphere of the game is profoundly coherent. The interconnecting emptiness and surreal architecture are believable, with soft graphics that perfectly fit the overarching theme. Unfortunately the experience is quite short, and has little to no oddities within for players to discover, but the liminal atmosphere it does provide is wonderful to jaunt through. If you're interested in finding more games like this I've probably reviewed quite a few on my curator page here .
wish it was longer and the settings had more options like turning off head bob when i play a liminal game and i play alot its always so easy to get lost but with this game that never happened to progress i had to back track so i would stop ending back at the beginning that was very annoying i want every turn to be new in a liminal back rooms game and i dont want to keep track of where i am going getting lost is half the fun i hope you can add my suggestions in your next game but so far the graphics and enviornment is great maybe add some creepy music to make it a little tense but no MONSTERS PLEASE! I think entitys ruins a game a great liminal game can be scary without being chased. thank you
Love it!!!
This game is surprisingly good looking for how inexpensive it is and the sound design is nice too, not too heavy on the footsteps and heavy breathing like most other, similar titles. I've played a dozen other "liminal space" walking sims and this one takes the cake for realism. It really does look like it was filmed on a camera. I look forward to other projects from this dev. There are rather limited settings, the absolute darkness in places can take a minute to adjust to, and the inability to disable head bobbing really stinks as I can only play for a few minutes at a time without getting motion sick.
I would give it a thumbs sideways. I liked: - The story at the beginning - Interesting rooms and architecture - No monsters - I was often lost and a thumbs up for the labyrinth - The price is very fair I did not like: - The emptyness. No rubber ducks or balls, no windows with interesting buildings or sculptures. Nothing rememberable - Very slow. I did not like when the game took control, like when opening doors - Very short. I'd rather pay more and get more content. - Unsatisfying end. It seems that I have to buy another game to continue the story - The VHS view can't be turned off. I personally don't like VHS view, but this is me You have a solid foundation here. Now fill it with interesting stuff.
Wow, just wow. I got lost, I got found, I loved it! Something about the way the VHE filter was implimented really looked like a real camera. I liked how it softened the world. I'm a big fan of how the lighting was dynamic: every room looked so different depending on if you used the flashlight or not. The shadows were deep but not scary, just enough to realize there is no light there. The water sounded really good when I slide into it, and the blues were so deep and mesmerizing. 10/10 job here, can't wait for the next one!
Really well done Liminal Space Walking Sim. No Repetitions, Unique rooms. A mix of comfy and eery
