WonderLang: German turns language learning into an adventure! Instead of memorizing words, you naturally pick up German by exploring, completing quests, and interacting with NPCs. The game introduces vocabulary and grammar seamlessly, making learning feel intuitive and rewarding. I love the clickable words with grammar notes, which many language games lack. The RPG mechanics—XP, achievements, and progression—keep things engaging. That said, a better vocabulary sorting system and a dedicated study mode would be great additions. Minor text errors exist but don’t break immersion. If you enjoy RPGs and want to learn German in a fun, interactive way, this is absolutely worth playing!

I bought the German version WonderLang. This game is a cute little RPG that uses a story to teach you a foreign language while staying engaging. It is a little buggy at times, but overall I find myself coming back to it. The game may feel a bit overwhelming at first (I started the game at A1 level), but slowly you get to a point where you realize instead of understanding almost nothing, you can understand quite a bit, and only need to look up a word or two to fill in the gaps. The game is not perfect, sometimes translations feel a little different than what I would expect to use in real life. But the goal is not perfection. The goal is to develop a sense of the language so that you can communicate with and connect to real life people. Overall I would say the game is great at staying engaging, and the updates keep coming so the most annoying bugs typically get worked out pretty quickly. As far as language learning, I personally use outside resources every day to supplement what I learn in the game. Those resources tend to bore me pretty quick because they are so repetitive. The game keeps me coming back when I feel burned out on other language-learning materials, which is what I personally love about it. Truth be told, learning so much of a language for the price of this game is an incredible deal. I do not regret my purchase at all. If I started learning another language other than German, WonderLang would honestly be my first purchase towards that end.

I went into WonderLang (learning German) not knowing what to expect, but it completely surprised me. It feels like a real RPG with exploring, puzzles, and characters with quests, so much that you forget you’re actually learning. But after a while, it hits you: you’re recognizing more and more German words without even trying. The way the game integrates language learning into the gameplay is super clever. You never feel like you're studying, yet you’re making real progress. If you love RPGs and want to learn German, this is the perfect mix of fun and learning.

Nice game to learn German. You can talk and listen to practice, there is voice recognition. I also use some local LLM (KoboldCpp) on a second screen to help me understand certain words and sentences of the game.

Amazing. Totally recommend for those that wanta to get a glimpse of German language.

I take the A1 test next week in Austria and I'm using this to help me hammer down understanding and speaking. I recently took a one month intensive course and while I learned a lot from that, this game is helping me to put my knowledge to the test. My only gripe to this is that it struggles to understand when I do the speaking bits. I don't know how that can be improved or if it's just that my mic sucks haha
