Reviews
There are only about 15 min of actual gameplay here, but hours of NPC's sending you across the map just so that once you arrive there they can tell you to come back now. The worst part though is as you progress through the game, there is less and less to grapple to, i guess to make it harder? So instead of feeling like you can freely explore the world, you instead become confined to these narrow paths of grapple points.

Game overall is okay, movement is great, only to have the experience be ruined by the combat.

It's a really good game, it's the first of this kind where I feel absolutely no motion sickness and it actually feel good because it's fairly easy to learn. The enemies can be a bit challenging at first, and it feels like this game have been designed with multiplayer in mind, so it can feel a bit lonely if played solo, but it's stull very enjoyable. I wish this could be turned into a bigger adventure game, as the parcour mechanics are very satisfying. This game convinced me to buy all this other developper games
This reminds me the amazing "To the top" VR game, but here, instead of climbing you are "flying" like a Spider-Man. It's definitely much better that the Windlands 1, plus now you get a bow and some boss fights (the first one is pretty awkward though). The first part of the game is pure joy of flying. After you get through the portals, it gets much harder as there is not much to grab anymore. And then there is the cactus... OMG the cactus is literally killing me! :D Also, some jumps are just crazy hard, no wonder only 7% players actually finished the game! But I definitely liked the challenge! The final climb up was very satisfying, there is something about climbing that just feels right. I'm looking forward to play the "Titan Isles" you've just released (it's the reason I'm replaying this gem). Thank you for such a lovely game :)
EDIT: This game is not fun when you do the main story. After playing through it, after finishing the second world, I can for sure say that the main campaign is not fun. The swinging around is extremely fun, even when we have to go back and forth constantly. The fun bits are going to a new area and flying everywhere while finding relics. The awful part is the combat. It is unfun, extremely repetitive and on hard mode also super frustrating. The same enemies get thrown at you a thousand times and the bosses, while looking quite cool, spam the same 1-2 attacks at you or spawn more of the like 2 different basic enemies at you. Whoever decided this combat system was fun, should not be allowed to make decisions like that anymore, cause this is awful. Combat has genuinely ruined this game for me. I will finish it because I want to get the achievements and collect all the relics, but I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone unless they want to play on easy mode and/or just wanna do the races. _________________________________________________________________ Old Review: This game's movement is insane fun, held back by meh combat but not enough to make it unenjoyable. The main thing about this game is that you are just going to be swinging your way to objectives, and then swing back to where you came from or to a new objective. This sounds tedious and boring, but the movement makes it insanely fun and enjoyable. Ever wanted to know what Spiderman in VR feels like? This is it, constantly swinging and managing your momentum. Sometimes smacking face-fist into a tree or wall, just to get back up and continue swinging. The movement is quite slippery when walking, but it is something you get used to. The combat however, is kind of a letdown. I tried playing this game on Hard mode for the achievement, but have also done the first 30-60 minutes on easy mode just to see what the difference would be, basically just less health and harder doors (you need to shoot x targets in y seconds, less seconds in hard mode). I have only played the first like 30-60 minutes like 3 times now (easy Co-op first, then hard solo, then hard co-op) so I have only fought the first 2 bosses, but I have to admit, it is just kind of annoying and at times, frustrating. The first boss shoots a bullet with aim that can predict where you are going, move towards you at a pace that makes you nearly unable to escape and has a laser that is huge while having a rapid turn speed. Fighting this guy in hard mode, is not fun. It kills you in 1 hit and is often unfair with how fast it is and how accurately it can hit you. Dying also has no consequences, sure your death total goes up and you have to swing back to where the boss is every time you die, but that's it. The second boss is more fun as it doesn't have the same near-instakill potential the first boss does. Seeing as how there are more enemies that also shoot laser bullets at you with the same accuracy as the first boss, meaning you just die instantly with no other penalty than just having to swing back to them. It is fine, but in a game where the movement is this much fun, I would have rather had them spend time on puzzles or something, rather than this lame combat. No offense, I just would much rather keep swinging everywhere than have to fight these enemies. It is a nice distraction for a bit, but that's it. Personally, I love the Races. I have only done the first one so far until I got the achievement for it (took me 3 tries) but that really is where this game shines for me, trying to go as fast as possible with the amazing movement system that the game offers. I also think that the multiplayer makes this game so much better and more fun, seeing eachother struggle, fall off constantly or just trying to improve at the races. Me and a friend of mine were trying to get to the secret area in the
Volcano, where you need to climb all the way up to the top to find the secret cave at the top for the 1 hidden collectible
, and we were having a ton of fun. I was the one who found a way to get there in the first place and helped him get to where I was, but he kept falling over and over and eventually, when I got to the end, he saw that there was a button that allowed him to "Teleport to host", so he just skipped it. While that was a bit disappointing in hindsight, it was super funny in the moment. I would not have enjoyed this game nearly as much without the co-op aspect. The characters all stare at you like they are going to end your life as soon as you close your eyes though. Really creepy. Some of the achievements are quite hard to get. The first race was doable (I got it in 1 min 58, when you need below 2 min), but I can't imagine that the other ones will be as forgiving (since I did lose momentum quite a few times). The secret in the hub is also insane, I wandered around for like 30-50 min before looking it up, and even then, getting to it was super difficult. One thing I really don't like, is that the "Custom Mode" settings, disables achievements without telling you. This should be front and center when you select it, but it isn't. I also kind of would like achievements like the secret in the hub to count for all players, not just the one who does it. While I understand that it is an achievement, and you personally achieved something, some players might not have the space to move around enough in order to pull off some more advanced techniques. The skins btw, are also super lame. They are just recolors. Super disappointing. Overall, this game is awesome and I would highly recommend it! Would love a more open-world take on this with more player builds to go for and improved combat :D
