If you enjoy lots of meandering mazes with corridors upon corridors, the order of which you have to keep track of to get back out or return for certain items, this is your jam. If you like finding things in really obscure places that you would never think to check without a tip, you might enjoy this. But I can't keep track of all that. You really need to follow a guide and before using one I found this game incredibly frustrating. Much of the hours I have on record is just trying to get unlost from someplace. That being said, the art style is really neat and the storyline is all right, though I don't think I'm a fan of the direction they seem to be taking it in. Maybe my perspective will change if I finish this game someday but currently I just find it tedious.

I didn't mind playing this game, but I wish that it had more depth and was longer to play. It took me 3 hours to finish the whole thing, so I wish the plot was more engaging since it's such a short game. I don't know if I would recommend it to others since it's such a short play and, while the story was somewhat interesting, was not super compelling/realistic to me. I appreciate that it bases the story off of real history, at least.
★★★★★ I didn’t expect Whispering Willows to stick with me the way it did, but it really did. I picked it up on a whim and ended up playing it in one sitting. The atmosphere is honestly the best part. It’s quiet, a little eerie, but also kind of sad in a good way? The music and art style just pull you in without trying too hard. Elena’s story kept me interested the whole time. I liked that the game doesn’t just dump everything on you—you piece things together as you go, which made it feel more personal. The spirit/astral mechanic was simple but worked really well for puzzles and exploring. It’s not super long or difficult, but that’s kind of the point. It feels more like an experience than a challenge. If you’re into story-driven games with a spooky vibe, definitely give this one a shot. It’s worth it.
