It's a nice little game, but honestly, if you've played the demo, you've pretty much seen everything. Sure, there are more maps and more items/weapons, but the gameplay never really changes. You run each map 2–3 times until you kill the boss, farm it for a while, then move on to the next map and repeat. The biggest issue is that your demo progress carries over to the full release. That means if you already completed the demo, there's barely 2 hours of content left to reach 100%. Not sure that was the best decision, but here we are. If that's your kind of game, go for it. Personally, I can't justify the price for only about 2 hours of new content.
It's fine. It's about a 3 hour game. I think that's important context when considering the price.

Super addicting little game that keeps the dopamine flowing, highly recommended!

YES is all you need to know
Developed and published by Brainfog Games, Whack-A-Monster is a lighthearted incremental action game that builds its appeal around an easy-to-understand concept and a rewarding sense of progression. Armed with an oversized hammer, players embark on a quest to eliminate an ever-growing assortment of quirky monsters while steadily becoming stronger through upgrades, equipment, and permanent enhancements. The game embraces the addictive nature of clicker and idle-inspired mechanics while incorporating RPG progression elements that encourage players to continue chasing new milestones. Rather than relying on an elaborate story, it focuses on delivering satisfying gameplay that rewards persistence with a constant stream of meaningful improvements. The foundation of the experience revolves around defeating monsters to earn valuable resources, which can then be invested into an expanding collection of upgrades. Every successful encounter contributes to long-term progression, allowing players to increase their damage output, improve efficiency, and unlock new abilities that make future battles more rewarding. The addition of a skill tree gives players greater control over how they develop their character, creating opportunities to specialize in different upgrade paths instead of simply following a linear progression system. This approach adds a welcome layer of strategy, even within a game designed around straightforward mechanics. Whack-A-Monster also spices up its gameplay loop by introducing powerful boss encounters that require greater preparation than ordinary enemies. These larger battles provide a satisfying change of pace while offering valuable rewards that permanently strengthen future runs. Alongside these encounters is a collection of weapons and equipment that encourages experimentation with different builds and playstyles. The promise of discovering stronger gear and unlocking increasingly powerful abilities helps maintain a steady sense of momentum, ensuring that even repetitive monster-smashing remains tied to meaningful long-term goals rather than feeling like mindless grinding. Visually, the game embraces a charming pixel art style that perfectly complements its arcade-inspired gameplay. The colorful environments and expressive monster designs create a playful atmosphere, while the exaggerated animations make every successful hit feel impactful. Its presentation favors clarity over excessive visual complexity, making it easy to focus on progression while enjoying the humorous tone. The combination of retro-inspired graphics, accessible controls, achievements, cloud save support, and multiple language options makes the overall package welcoming to both newcomers and experienced fans of incremental games. What ultimately stands out about Whack-A-Monster is its understanding of its target audience. It does not attempt to reinvent the incremental genre with complicated systems or an elaborate narrative. Instead, it refines familiar mechanics into an enjoyable progression loop that constantly rewards players with new upgrades, stronger equipment, and increasingly challenging enemies. Those who enjoy idle games, clickers, roguelite progression, or casual action titles built around continuous growth will likely find plenty to appreciate. While players searching for deep storytelling or highly technical combat may want a more complex experience, Brainfog Games has crafted a polished and entertaining title that embraces simplicity without sacrificing long-term engagement. Rating: 8/10
Very good incremental game, one of the best.
Love the game! Great gameplay loop and super addictive. Final level was my favorite with the multiple boss fight. Took me a little over 4 hours to beat all bosses, but I'll keep playing until I unlock the whole skill tree. More than worth the price!! :)
