About
Welcome to Elderfield is a cozy horror RPG where the abnormal is normal, the townsfolk are odd, the eldritch beings watch over you and the local news reports seem stranger by the day.

Everything in Elderfield is unsettling, from the haunting, horror manga-inspired, hand-drawn visuals to the dark, lofi soundscapes composed by Dated. Despite the strange creatures lurking just outside your home, those who wander into Elderfield rarely find a reason… or option, to leave.

Customize your home and character, unravel daily mysteries, befriend the odd townsfolk (or even marry one!), go fishing, spend your afternoons mining and forage through the surrounding wilds… There's lots to do in Elderfield!

Cultivate your land, harvest your crops, and stop the growth of unruly tentacles. Manage a variety of strange, otherworldly livestock, grow useful crops like corn, pumpkins, teeth or eyeballs and hope that beings from the woods don’t wander onto your farm.

Choose your difficulty, how much suffering can you endure? For players seeking a peaceful life of harvest and discovery, cozy difficulty offers a more laid-back experience. For those who crave a challenge, the Old Gods are waiting.
Elderfield features a deep, turn-based combat system where you must utilize gathered resources, strategic buffs and diverse equipment to survive encounters with ancient, Lovecraftian horrors.
Die, learn, farm, and forage… Then die again.

Interesting concept, but really bad execution. There's no depth or strategy to combat, just resource management. Which is making sure you have enough food for every single round. This is where farming sim comes in. Your food ingredients will generally come from your farm, and you need a ton of it. It's no exaggeration that you're pouring money down the drain with each boss fight. After all, you could have sold the crops for money instead. RNG. Every single aspect of this game heavily relies on RNG, which I'll point out the most problematic ones. Fishing, events and mining. There's a built-in luck system, but it's not very good, so these aspects remain annoying. Fishing and its mechanics are mind-numbling boring. Not only this, some quests demand specific high quality fish. The type of fish is completely RNG, the quality is also RNG, so you better fish 100+ times just to finish a singular quest. There is a levelling system to buff your chances of getting high quality fish, but it's really terrible. You could combine it with potion buffs, and your experience would still be miserable, watching paint dry would be more interesting than this. Lots of event outcomes are subjected to RNG, even the loot you get is RNG. If you're not satisfied, better wait one or two weeks, hoping that RNG is on your side, so the event repeats again. As for the food you wasted on the garbage loot? Well, better spend your money and grow more crops then. Mining is also really bad. Anything that requires metal demands copious amounts of ores. If you're lucky, a single mining trip will afford one upgrade to your tool. This doesn't include preserving barrels, kegs where each of them also demands outrageous amounts of metal. As for the mining mechanics, it's also not very good. Mining has a chance to cause bad outcomes, reducing your atk, def, hit chance, etc, potentially crippling your ability to keep exploring. Better retreat and try again. If that doesn't sound bad enough, mines only regenerate once a week. The setting was very interesting at first, but it slowly gets dulled out by the amount of grinding in this game. If you do plan to play, make sure it's running on GPU, else it will have less than 30 fps. Might be due to it being an RPGM, it sometimes use integrated graphics instead. TLDR: Extremely grindy, maybe consider playing it if you have a lot of time to spare.

imagine stardew valley mixing with fear or hunger. you are able too grow plants, look after animals and have relationships. but fighting horrible amazing looking monsters with stories and hard tasks. i enjoy the difficulty as easier it is the faster the game will finish. i love the style.. who ever the artist is has amazed me reminds me of the horror coma games. i would recommend this to anyone into the farming simulation. 10/10.
After playing it for 43 hours TBH maybe 20 hours i was afk because i slept twice while playing it (this is how bad it is), The artstyle and horror is beautiful and gimmick events are good and beautiful, but the actual pacing and gameplay is boring and unbalanced, also something about the developer and dice rolls everything has a dice roll and very bad effects from bad dices, i had 78 luck when i stopped most of my rolls are netural or good and almost nothing good come from good rolls. The developer clearly got no clue how to make a fun gameloop but following multiple other games concepts with bad execution, he is trying Fear and hunger RNG system but done badly, he is trying to do stardew valley farming but horror gimmicks done badly, he is trying RPG legecy dungeons system done badly, he is trying Dark souls 2 upgrade the bonefire system for more loot and stronger enemies done badly, he is basically a fan of multiple games tried to put everything together into 1 game while removing everything that made those systems fun. It does require fundemental change to be a good game, but i can see people who enjoy doing chores enjoy this game.
I LOVE IT EXCEPT FOR ONE THING... This game has so many cool little odd and intriguing mechanics, mysteries and the MUSIC is just mesmerizing and so relaxing. The blend of cozy wholesomeness and horror is spot on. There is one complaint tho... As a woman, the choice of bachelors is just TERRIBLE. The guys get these vastly different and quirky girl characters: silly & bubbly, a goth, a badass, a lovely skeleton & a mysterious ghost ✨ - And then the bachelors are just... some guy, some guy, some guy but half dead & a literal pile of goop (sorry Blorph). One of the "some guy"s straight up looks like a serial killer he creeps me out, wtf Josh. It's so beyond obvious the game was made by a guy and I wish he'd put in a little more effort to make the male characters have an actual personality. I hope there will be some changes made or even an update with maybe at least ONE interesting/attractive male character :)
some weird worm headed people want to touch me in my dreams, farmer hans took his skin off and his field is infested with ghost tentacles, i got jumpscared by a creepy stairwell ghost (whose baby is being eaten by cursed flesh, which also promptly consumed me), a pretty green haired lady gave me mystery meat at 3am, and i was forcibly spin cycled by an uzumaki laundry monster. 10/10 would enter the sewers and get attacked by horrific monsters again, sustaining myself on the blood of gods oh also dave the talking black cat is cute (i'm sure there's definitely no demonic massive cat god under his house)
I want to add Japanese
With the current graphical settings, you can't properly make this game to work on a low-end PC way below minimal settings - it's just a slideshow. While other similar titles in RPGMaker offer you a work around these settings, this games needs optimization patches first and foremost. I understand when travelling on map may sttuter, but during a fight? It's bad optimization and dev needs to work on their steam deck version first, then low-end PC may work as well. Currently without dedicated GPU you can't run a game without a heavy GPU usage. Other titltes offer better CPU to GPU usage than this game currently on the realease in RPG Maker... + More settings like: lowest-low-medium-high-ultra/dev recommended Also, you can choose only 30 FPS and unlimited. It would be better to choose: 30, 60, 120, 240, unlimited rather than the two this game currently offers. Bachelors should be better written or reworked, bachelorettes are just better in every inch. Last, but ot leaste - gameplay leans more into Fear and Hunger turn and based combat rather than Stardew Valley gameplay. If you come for Stardew Valley with creepy atmoshpere, this game is not for you. It's Fear first, Valley last.
普通难度太坐牢了,改最低难度舒服多了
Mid. Its not bad, but its kind of boring. I felt the same way about stardew valley.
这款游戏优质。星露谷太平淡,玩不进去。这个很有邪恶的气息,更有感觉。
