waxweaver is a small but imaginative sandbox RPG that makes a strong first impression through its unusual world design. Instead of placing players on a conventional flat map, the adventure unfolds across a procedurally generated square planet with gravity adapted to its shape. This gives exploration a distinctive character as players travel around the surface, dig underground, collect materials, and gradually uncover what the generated world contains. Developed by kaiakairos and published by kaiakairos alongside Scarecrow Arts, it is clearly designed as a compact experience rather than an enormous survival game, and that focused approach helps keep its progression moving at a comfortable pace. Exploration forms the heart of the experience. Each generated planet provides an environment where curiosity is rewarded through resources, items, underground areas, and other discoveries. Mining through terrain and searching different parts of the world creates a pleasant sense of uncertainty because players are never entirely sure what might be waiting beyond the next area. The unusual planetary structure also makes ordinary movement more interesting than it would be in a traditional rectangular sandbox map. Secret world-generator types further encourage experimentation, particularly for players who enjoy discovering mechanics and unusual possibilities without having everything immediately explained. The collecting and crafting systems give exploration a practical purpose. With more than 300 items available to discover, there is a surprisingly substantial collection element for a game of this scale. Materials gathered during exploration can contribute to crafting, character development, and building a personal home. Mining, fishing, environmental interaction, and survival-inspired mechanics add variety to the routine, preventing the adventure from becoming solely about walking around and fighting enemies. Building a home is especially useful because it gives the player a sense of permanence inside an otherwise procedurally created world. Character progression follows an accessible RPG philosophy rather than overwhelming players with complicated statistics. The satisfaction comes from beginning with limited capabilities, gathering increasingly useful resources, improving equipment, and becoming prepared for more dangerous encounters. Combat complements this progression by giving upgrades an actual purpose. Several bosses serve as significant milestones, encouraging players to prepare before challenging them. The combat itself is unlikely to satisfy someone looking for an extremely technical action RPG, but within a casual sandbox adventure it provides enough danger and structure to make progression meaningful. The visual presentation supports the game's playful personality. Its colorful 2D environments are simple but readable, and the square-world concept gives the scenery an identity that distinguishes it from many other crafting sandboxes. The ambient soundtrack reinforces a relaxed atmosphere during exploration, making the experience suitable for shorter, low-pressure sessions. There is combat and some survival influence, but the overall mood leans more toward experimentation and discovery than constant tension. This makes it particularly appealing to players who enjoy gradually dismantling, exploring, and understanding a small procedural world at their own pace. Another advantage is that waxweaver does not demand an enormous time commitment. The available content is intended to provide approximately six hours of play, although completionists and players interested in procedural experimentation can potentially spend longer exploring its systems. There are also 20 Steam achievements to pursue. A shorter duration can be considered a drawback for anyone wanting an endless survival experience, especially because the fundamental gathering and progression mechanics could support a larger adventure. At the same time, the limited scope prevents the resource grind from becoming exhausting and allows players to experience most of its ideas without committing dozens of hours. Steam Deck compatibility is currently best regarded as unverified rather than officially guaranteed. There is no established Steam Deck compatibility rating confirming that every feature works perfectly on Valve's handheld. Since the game is relatively lightweight and built around straightforward 2D gameplay, it may still be possible to run it through Steam Deck's compatibility environment, but players should not interpret that as official Verified or Playable status. Control behavior, interface readability, performance, and Proton compatibility may therefore require individual testing. The technical footprint is refreshingly modest, including a very small storage requirement compared with modern games. The Windows version targets Windows 10 and 11, and there is also specific guidance concerning Vulkan for certain newer NVIDIA hardware. These details reinforce the impression of a lightweight indie project that prioritizes its gameplay concept over demanding graphics technology. Being free also makes its limitations much easier to accept. There is little financial barrier to experimenting with the game, and the quantity of items, procedural exploration, crafting, building, fishing, combat, and boss encounters represents a respectable package for a free release. Overall, waxweaver works best when approached as a concise sandbox adventure built around experimentation rather than a massive long-term survival RPG. Its square planet, unusual gravity concept, procedural generation, extensive item collection, crafting systems, and relaxed atmosphere give it enough individuality to avoid feeling like another generic crafting game. Greater combat depth and substantially more content could make the concept even stronger, but its current compact structure has an appealing simplicity of its own. For players who appreciate small experimental indie games and enjoy gathering, building, exploring, and gradually becoming stronger, it offers an entertaining little world worth investigating. Terraria çakmasına benzesede eğlenceli oyun sıkılmadan saatlerce oynanabilir ama oyuna günceleme gelmesi gerektiğini düşünüyorum
I just played sum BULLSHIETTTTTTTTT!!!
I loved the gravity system, it's kinda like terraria but it is still fun to play, i recommend playing with friends, thing that i dind't, BUT, you can figure out what to do without a wiki page open in your tab, and it's like terraria, you will get beaten and played like a doll in the start, but getting better gears won't change anything if you explore other areas, i recommend this experience to be honest.
it's free
better than terraria
