Nothing makes your friendship stronger than making your friends clean up customers’ diarrhea while you stand there, ready to take down a customer with tazer.
Perfectly captured all amazing things about waterpark: joy, wonder and chaos! Game runs smoothly even with mid PC performances. Loads of contents for extremely reasonable price. You will not regrets buying this game.
i didn't like it. i'm a simulator addict and this was crap. sorry
Ah there was great hope not to be another tedious simulation game. There is still great potential, but Waterpark Simulator (WS) hasn't pushed that boundary yet (thus the not recommended review). The movement is a little choppy, the AI path finding seems confused half the time, and the repetitive (and lack of automation) in tasks can drive players crazy. It is a super fun concept with some promise! Read on to see why because I hope to change my review! WS's gameplay is okay. The controls include basic movements with ability to climb on or over ledges; jumping is possible. The player starts on a beat down piece of land and slowly begins to build their waterpark legacy. Through actions, the player accumulates experience which can be used to unlock from three main categories: park, maintenance, decor and wellness. As the park hosts better infrastructure, the prestige of the park rises - allowing the player to further unlock other portions of the game. Better chairs, new slides, pools, staff, designs etc... players can't quite edit pool shapes themselves, which sort of sucks. Building in the game is quite easy and the game approaches going from first person to an RTS camera. I thought this was a cool feature in the game that other games could borrow from. The employees themselves are okay and the player is extremely limited to the amount. They do work, albeit too slow for my liking. The same could be said about the player as the park grows. Manually removing then again hammering in place as the park changes becomes a bit annoying. Eventually, the player is allowed to move blueprint or even built objects through the RTS / building view. I'm not sure why more of the direct gameplay improvements weren't allowed to be added earlier in the game rather than later. The graphics and visuals are okay. They don't do the game any disservice, but some (if not most parts) of the game feel like general assets. Again, not a deal breaker as there is some animations associated with the NPC actions, but it can be a little limiting. The environment is kind of lively and cool and the player certainly feels like they are at a water park on a nice sunny day. NPCs generally have neutral faces but have emojis to make it easy for the player to see what's happening. (Wish real cars or people shopping at Costco had that). The sounds and music are decent. All basic and necessary sounds seem to be there, but there feels like there is a lack of immersion. Sometimes I like to hear a problem before it happens, or just hear it happening at all. The music does feel a little goofy and generic, although a little circus at times. Overall, the game is simply ok. If this was the first of the simulator genre that everyone seems to be copying - sure probably would recommend. After playing Gas Station Simulator and a few others like it, I'm not a fan of doing all the tedious work all the time and not being able to enjoy the creation in front of me. If I'm the owner or manager, I should be able to lightly float around and jump in where necessary. Other times I should be able to interact or walk the park. The game tries with some small neat additions (such as pushing or punishing people sneaking into the park) but the player is constantly pulled by so many tasks that it's hard to properly enjoy the game. Thus, the negative review. This is my opinion, I suggest you, as always, do your homework. It is in Early Access, so there may be hope! I felt from the previews I could walk this giant water park and mess with customers, maybe even jump on a slide. The actual game feels short from that first impression. TO THE DEVS: -Employee limit certainly has to be higher at the beginning and throughout. Way too much grind for player even after few hours of play. -Game becomes way too repetitive due to reason above. -The pooping and peeing in the pool is a little crazy and happens a little too often. Lots of bathrooms available yet lots of poop problems. -Maintenance staff is also slow and requires way too much time to do any job, even upgraded staff. Path finding isn't easy to code, but definitely needs some fine tuning on what to prioritize, especially in their vicinity. -Down the road, add some complications regarding weather perhaps? The player can explore a bit of the map which is great (when handing out flyers), random people try to sneak in, why not add weather (or other ideas) into the mix that make the player think a little. Try not to get stuck in a copy paste box or recycling repetitive ideas. Could rain impact business? Maybe keep loyal customers during those times when the weather isn't great? -Probably mentioned a 1000 times, but the game would benefit from multiplayer. pretty fun
I rarely play simulator games because most of the time, they bore me in the long run, but this game's got me stressing out. Like legit, I've been thinking how to run the park even in my off days. I love whacking them cheaters with bats, and I'm not one for violence. It's addicting, challenges are doable, and there's humor sprinkled in and it's not so on-the nose, and hell yeah I dig that. Came to review because I just did a one shift after its official release, and everything's RICHER and IMMERSIVE now, had to will myself to turn it off just so I can focus on my work. So yeah, thanks devs for giving me something to think about. Best of luck to this game!
First off, I love this game, it's one of the few "management" games that I actually played and enjoyed my time (Retro Rewind and TCG Card Shop are the other ones). So here's my review. Yes this game is fun, yes this game is cool and brings a new breath of fresh air to this genre (that's getting way too stale), yes this game will get you playing for hours, HOWEVER after you get through Park 4 Stars and Park 5 Stars the game becomes a "start a new day, wait for the day to end, repeat". I dunno what the ♥♥♥♥ they did to the progression here, but back on BETA my first park had 91 days and I had full luxury stuff and basically 100% of the researches done, but now after it's release? pff a whole day (including night shift) only gives you 7~8 points (and 100k a day if you minmax your earnings), and they've increased all research costs and filled it with filler ♥♥♥♥ that you are obligated to get (like if you want Luxury Toilets you NEED to unlock the Pressure Washer first). I am now 113 days with my new park, over $2m on my bank, and waiting for research points (5~8 a day) to actually build the ♥♥♥♥♥♥' park. TL;DR The game became way too grindy after reaching 4 stars park to the point where you'll literally just open the park, leave it afk, going to bed and repeating the process. Enjoy the game while you are actually playing it, after 4 stars you'll do nothing (at 5 stars you'll do even less waiting for research points).
EDIT: TO CAY, THE DEV
I never said I dislike your game man, on my first 6 words I said that "I LOVE THIS GAME", what I dislike is the grind with no gameplay that I am stuck with, I want to build my park, but I can't, I need to go through 4~5 days just to get 1 research unlock (6 or 7 if it's 15~20 points). This is not fun, I love your game, but the amount of pointless researches that were implemented and some without any explanation of what they do kills the joy for me. Some examples that I can remember without having to go through everything. The Duck Turret, I thought it would automate the "Smelly Guests" but no, it does nothing other than piss off your staff (and I play solo so w/e), the Mascot, what does it do? Why should I get one instead of an actually useful staff? There is no description as to what it actually does to my park other than dance with the guests sometimes, the Pressure Washer (that was on the Beta), WHY do I need it at 5 Stars? I already have 3 Janitors, why would I need to unlock that 5 stars? That should've been unlocked at 2 Stars to help, not at 5, another one, Mama, WHY would I get any security guard upgrade (2 and 3) when a tier 1 Mama can do everything all day and not a single "bad guest" getting through. There are more, but I can't remember off the top of my head. Revise the order at what we unlock things and balance that, I know you can improve this game, you've already done an amazing job with it. This is coming from someone with almost 90 hours in your game, and I will keep playing it since I am invested in make an amazing park. I hope you see this and actually takes the feedback.
More like constant busywork simulator. It's just a chaotic, over-stimulating game that has you constantly fixing pools, slides, etc, and cleaning the park over and over again. It might be fun for others, but for someone like me, who wants a management sim, it's mid. To be fair, I haven't put enough time into this game to see where it goes, but from what I played, It just wasn't for me.
