About
Warlord is a fantasy map simulator where you can create your very own world. Maps, factions, units, and more are fully customizable.
Factions build and upgrade settlements, recruit units, form armies, defend their lands, attack their enemies, and make decisions based on what is happening around them. Wars grow across the map as kingdoms rise, collapse, form alliances, and fight for control.
Warlord is built around giving you the tools to create the kind of world you want to simulate. Make something from scratch, recreate a historical-inspired conflict, or build your own fantasy setting and see how it plays out.
Create your own maps and shape the world the factions will fight over.
Paint different types of terrain, create rivers and oceans, place mountains and hills, and add settlements across the map. Build anything from small isolated regions to large worlds filled with competing kingdoms.
Once you have a map, you can turn it into a scenario.
Choose which factions take part, where they begin, what settlements and forces they control, and what relationships they have with each other.
Create a balanced war between rival kingdoms, surround one faction with enemies, build a massive alliance war, or simply fill the map and see which faction comes out on top.
Create your own factions and decide what makes each one different.
Choose their name, appearance, culture, colors, units, and other characteristics. Factions can also have different AI tendencies, allowing you to create aggressive conquerors, defensive kingdoms, expansion-focused empires, and more.
Build historical-inspired kingdoms, classic fantasy races, or completely original factions of your own.
Create custom units for your factions and decide how they perform on the battlefield.
Customize their combat statistics, cost, role, and other attributes to build everything from cheap basic infantry to elite warriors, cavalry, archers, and more.
You can create completely new unit rosters or adjust existing units to fit the kind of world you want to simulate.
The different creation tools in Warlord are designed to work together. A custom unit can become part of a custom faction, which can then be placed into a custom scenario on a map you created yourself.
The goal is to give you control over the setup of the whole world from the map down to each unit.
Warlord will support Steam Workshop, allowing you to share your creations with other players and download content made by the community.
Create and share maps, scenarios, factions, units, and more, or combine other players' creations to build completely new simulations.
Set up your world, start the simulation, and see what happens.
A small faction might grow into an empire. A powerful kingdom might collapse after a disastrous war. Old enemies may become allies, while former allies turn on each other.
